I seem to recall an old PC game called 'Borderlands' that EA brought out in the mid to late 80's.  Then again, I could be getting senile!

Yes this is being described as Fallout 3 meets Call of Duty Modern Warfare meets World of Warcraft.  The WoW tie in has to do with their quest/exp/levelling/and loot systems which could be directly lifted from WoW.  Very interesting to say the least.

I'm enjoying Borderlands hugely. Although the violence is a bit graphic, the "graphics" style is a bit cartoony so its fun rather than gory. It does have quests which lead you through the story arc, but to be honest they are either retrieval, push a button or kill so and so, no great depth but still hugely fun. Co-op play is very good and there is a play again option where at the end you keep your gear and skills and plough back through the game, all the bad guys are powered up to match. 3 Add ons now out for it, including a Zombie location. Well worth  the fun.

Borderlands is a GREAT game. It's like a light Fallout 3. I can't say enough about this game!
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

My mate and I got through to the end of game boss last night, 30 mins of ploughing through minions, then a huge firefight to take him down, boss is about 10 seconds away from dying and my mates pc decides to update Adobe, his game crashes, we are playing co-op on him hosting so mine goes with it.

Across the land people reported an eerie pained howl in the night

SO steam had a 50% off deal (on till 4/5/10) and it is GREAT. I feel like im back in WOW but also in an FPS, the reason I quit WOW was the constant grind, but since MMO and FPS had a baby and Borderlands poped out its GREAT

Yeah, if my 360 didnt red ring I might have, irony is there are only 4 people on my steam friends list with borderlands meanwhile I have atleast 6 on 360, but only one was 50 percent off :P
