Some pics on the set of the film with Seth in his Green hornet outfit.  At least it looks like they got the costumes right.  Still hoping they are playing this movie pretty seriously.

After seeing the photos I feel a little better about the movie. Mr. Rogen actually looks pretty good in the hornet costume. I've heard he has been slimming down and training physically for the role. So I wish him the best of luck. Any idea on who is playing Kato? I don't recognize him. I was sort of hoping they'd pull off a coup and cast a female in the Kato role. I believe they could have gotten away with that, depending on the story line.

Rico

Kato is being played by Jay Chou.  A young actor from Taiwan.

The fact that Stephen Chow was removed from the project tells me they were trying to make a serious movie.  I still don't see why they cast Seth though...

All I can think of is that perhaps there is some witty banter between Kato and the Hornet to break the tension, like in a 'Lethal Weapon' kind of way.  And they thought some one with a comedic background could make that work better.

Either that or Seth thought the Green Hornet got his powers from a radioactive hornet that had been feeding on genetically enhanced marijuana, and he said "Dude sign me up!"

Rico

Seth is actually a huge Green Hornet fan from what I have read, so that was a big part of why he is doing this movie.  It also tells me he might be trying to play it pretty straight.

Ktrek

How do you play this pretty straight? Have you looked at the images released thus far and that car? I find it hard to believe that this will be a serious take on Green Hornet. And if it is a aserious take...oh yi  yi yi!

I don't see what you're seeing. The car looks cool and I don't see any pie gags in the stills. What are you seeing?

I agree Chris.  The car, the costumes, everything looks great to me too.  Of course, we all have to wait and see how it turns out, but I'm hopeful.

I am not a Seth Green fan.  In fact, I dislike the actor's movie career overall.  He matches Adam Sandler in "how many comedy movies can I make that actually aren't funny, but are more likely disgusting/no-morals".  *sigh*

I'm highly skeptical, but will give it a shot *IF* the reviews are decent.

Well lucky for you it's not Seth Green but Seth Rogen who's in this movie :)

CMOHamm

True, but I know I would have a very hard time taking rogen seriously.

Sorry they don't work for you, but not every movie needs to have a moral lesson. Even though some of the movies by the actors that you mentioned did have moral lessons. I guess I'll be the one to do what others might be thinking ...

What's up with all the negativity and venom that we've seen of late in some of the threads? We get prejudging and all sorts of the "everything sucks" posts as of late and it's just a little odd.

Now I'm not suggesting that everyone here needs to be shiney, but I think in better days, we didn't try to cause so many rainy days. At least when we did disagree on something, we were specific about what we didn't like and why. Now, there are more and more post about how something is negative and no real reason behind it. No benefit of the doubt. No open minded consideration and it just doesn't feel the same.

I'm not saying that we all need to agree, hold hands, and sing, but the world and the universe is not as negative as some people's post will have us believe. Unlike other places, we tried to be better.

Can we please get back to being better?

And now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Watch "Freaks and Geeks."  Seth can act and be serious too.

F & G was an amazing show, as was Undeclared, also featuring Rogen.  I am a big Seth Rogen fan, loved everything he's done so far, especially with Apatow.  I know next to ntohing about the Green Hornet and will be going into this with a completely open mind.
