Hi Rico, as a new iPhone user, I appreciate the mobile edition of your main site.  Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but I cannot seem to log on to the forum from the main Treksinscifi.com mobile site.  I am not being critical, just wondering if it is possible.  Although I should be careful what I wish for, it might prove to be a habit if I can log in from the handset!  :)

It certainly will become a habit. Most of my time on this forum is via the iPhone now!

For what it's worth, I simply access it using the normal URL so I've never looked for a link from the mobile site.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

There's a mobile site? Same here, I just use the normal URL and tilt the phone into landscape mode.

logging into the mobile site is case sensitive. Hopefully that helps.

Here's what I know - and keep in mind I do not have a mobile device to test this on.  First, maybe a month or two ago I added a mobile version template to the main Wordpress site only:  www.treksinscifi.com.  As far as I know when you go there it will give you the choice of what format to view the main site on.  Now, the forum is a different story.  As far as I know when you go to the forum it only shows in the "normal" form.  I've not really looked into seeing if there is anyway to make the forum more "mobile-friendly."  It's not a big priority for me at this time.  So, that's what I know.

Thanks Rico, that make sense.  The mobile edition of the main site is really cool.  When using the forum, I'll just switch to the standard mode.

Rico, when you go to the forums on a basic mobile device, it gives you the topics and all the good stuff, but no backgrounds or graphics. It's really bare bones and low bandwith and has been there for a while. I think it's the forum program that allows it and nothing has to be done on your part, but it's case sensitive in the log on.

Rico

Cool - thanks for the info on that.

Wow, I never realised that. On iPhone an Eindows Mobile I've always got the full shooting match. (it's next to imposible on a high res win mo screen but lovely on the iPhone)

As i'm writing this from a mobile phone i thought i'd add. When viewed by using the standard mobile phone web browser you get a basic word screen. You click on the topic and have a look. You get no pictures and i don't know who's on line and no shout box. If i view by using opera mini then i see the whole sight just longer.
