Question related to photos(avatars)on this site

Hey there,

so I found quite a few, very awesome Trek pictures, but they're in PNG format. So I tried uploading one on here as an avatar. It said that the file was not 'writable'(or something like that LOL). So I asked my friend if I could somehow make it into a JPG. He told me to save it, then put .jpg after whatever I called it. I did this and it reduced the file size significantly, which I was trying to do for the picture to use as an avatar on another site. But when I uploaded it there, the site went to a white page and said "Protector detects attacking actions". Any clue what's up with that?

So I tried uploading it again(as a JPG) on here and got the same message about it being unwritable. Why's it telling me this? Is there anything I can do to get it so it will upload? Thanks in advance!

if your running windows, you can give this a try...

Open with paint  Click File -> Save As and choose jpg or what ever format you want

Ok - due to the recent server move the settings were wrong for the server location for avatars.  It's fixed now (I just uploaded a new avatar for myself).  Sorry about that.
