The Caped Crusader
by Rick Moyer

In Gotham City lives a foe of crime
Catchin all the criminals right on time
Dressed in black with some pointy ears
Fighting for the justice and calming our fears

Commisioner Gordon and his motely crew
Callin up the red phone askin what to do
Slidin down the big poll Bruce becomes a bat
Checkin' on his gizmos where's the action at?

Fire shoots out from the cool black car
knocking down the detours so they don't know where they are
peelin out in gravel the man he makes his way
Fighting crime by night but a millionare by day

An ordinary guy makin all the right moves
pullin from his utility belt he knows just what to do
Fighting for justice he's a real crime hater
It's Batman!, our caped crusader
it's Batman!, our caped crussader

The likes of Joker & Egghead see
Catwoman, Firefly Poisin Ivy
The riddler, two face, Harley Quinn
The Scarecrow, mr. freeze and the penguin

The dynamic duo that's what Robin makes
fightin off the bad guys and doin what it takes
Batgirl's cool with barbara on the bike
All the cool costumes that I really like

Biff!, wham!, zap! the henchman taken out
cleanin up the riff raff that's what it's all about
Conflicted on the inside but tough all around
Flyin on his cables doesn't even make a sound

All the incarnations over years like that
different interpretations of the same old bat
Love him or hate him batman doesn't lie
He's the Dark Knight super hero and one cool guy.

I have been and always will be, your friend.

Brilliant podcast Rico well done for getting all that in with the time you had. Great song Rick, i recognise the music you used have you used that before? Great show.

Yea it was fun. For some reason I thought it was only me who didn't like some of the later films and thought the TV series wasn't the best - I was a little hesitant at sending the comment in.

I think I need to give the Keaton films and perhaps the most recent two another go as a lot of what you said made sense and may educate the light in which I watch them.

Oh, and we need to get Bryan into a green question marked Lycra suit now do we?

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

It's drum beat is similar to some of the other stuff!  But it was from scratch!  :)  Thanks Meds!

Thanks!  I really enjoying doing these types of specials.

It is funny that you cannot get the Batman TV series on DVD and yet you can purchase the original 1943 movie serial collection on DVD, is that wacky or what???

Nice Podcast Rico.  And I would like to recommend the Gotham Knight DVD for Anime fans, it is a collection of six animated shorts put together by masters of the Anime genre.  It was commissioned by the Producers of Darknight to stoke the flames of Bat-mania before the movie came out.  Kind of like they did for the Matrix movies two and three when they released the Animatrix (which is also awesome, and a must have for Matrix fans, it includes exclusive Matrix history about the war between machines and man!)

Batman was a nice choice for a podcast, thank you!

Rico

Thanks for that Gotham Knight suggestion Omra (I liked it too).  I was planning on mentioning that and a bit more on some of the other animated stuff but ran short on time.  A lot to cover for one podcast.

Really enjoyed the show. I used to watch cheesy old Batman and have been a fan of the movies (except for that stretch of unfortunate Joel Schumacer ones though I still saw them in theaters). Also read Hush and enjoyed that a lot.

Cool overview of it all!

Good show as usual Rico, but... Oh my god, what a terrible subject, I can't stand anything Batman.

Just some additional notes from me..

One correction. Although the theme to the Batman Animated Series was done by Danny Elfman, the late Shirley Walker actually did the music for the show.

Also, check out Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. This was the BEST Batman movie until the recent Nolan films.

Going way back to the 1940s, there were 2 serial films of Batman, which are both currently available on DVD.

It's worth mentioning that in the current DC universe, Bruce Wayne is dead*. As of this summer, Dick Grayson has now taken the mantle of Batman and Bruce Wayne's son Damien is now Robin.

And finally, A very excellent short fan film you must see is Batman:Dead End. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it, but this would have made awesome film. Enjoy.

Very good additions batmite!  Would have loved to have an audio comment from you for the podcast (you could even send a little comment still with some of your points and I could play this coming weekend).  I also think "Mask of the Phantasm" is excellent as well.

I would have done an audio comment, but I don't have the equipment or a very good computer at home to make one, sadly.
