Hey, it's a decent, well written, well acted, well edited / directed piece of work. It was bound to get cancelled! Just not dumb enough for the networks... It's a sad state of affairs.

I will miss it.

"Pushing Daisies" The Movie?
By Garth FranklinThursday, January 15th 2009 7:09am

With ABC's "Pushing Daisies" off the air and no word on the remaining unaired episodes ever making it to air, some surprising news has come today from regular cast member Kristin Chenoweth.

Talking with TV Guide, Chenoweth claims series runner Bryan Fuller is aiming for a direct-to-DVD movie that would wrap up the series and its various storylines that sadly don't come to a close in those so far unaired episodes.

"It would wrap up a lot of the unanswered questions that people will have once they finally air our final episodes" says Chenoweth who claims Fuller has the plot for a movie already worked out. However she's sure he "wouldn't do it without the six main characters. Paul Reubens was a big part of it - we have certain guest stars that are standouts that we'd want back. But he has such a great idea for it."

The move isn't unusual as Fuller's acclaimed dark comedy series "Dead Like Me" has been spun off into a direct-to-DVD movie "Life After Death" which gets released next month, though Fuller himself sadly wasn't a part of that.

I think a direct-to-DVD movie is fantastic! All I ask is for the return of Paul Reubens and Raul Esparza, and I think we're good. :)

Finally get to see the 3 unaired episodes.

"Pushing Daisies" Final Episodes Coming to DVD

Fans of Bryan Fuller's "Pushing Daisies" will want to circle Tuesday, July 21st on their calendars. That's the scheduled release date for the second (and final) season of the series on DVD and Blu-Ray according to TV Guide On-Line.

The set will include the full second season, including three never-before aired episodes. Fans have been eagerly awaiting ABC's announcement that these episodes would air on the network. So far, the Alphabet Network hasn't scheduled the episodes.

The four-disc set (two discs for Blu-ray) will feature all 13 Season 2 episodes, as well as featurettes on creator Bryan Fuller's vision, composer Jim Dooley's music and the magic created by the visual effects team. You can pick up your copy for $39 on DVD and $49 for Blu-ray.

Pushing Daisies Back From The Dead For More Than Sixty Seconds (Just)

ABC haven't announced their summer schedule just yet, but when they do, don't be surprised to see the brief return of Bryan Fuller's Pushing Daisies. Just don't celebrate, just yet.

The show's rumored return may not be official yet, but it's not a full-scale change of heart on behalf of the network... They're simply showing the last three episodes of the second season before it gets released on DVD in July. The episodes - reworked by Fuller before the show's cancellation to bring some sense of closure - are rumored to have a Saturday 10pm timeslot, starting May 30th. I have to admit to hoping against hope that they're an unexpected ratings smash, just to see how the network would react.

So, watched the final episode of Pushing Daisies over the weekend and...well, I'm left with mixed feelings.  I had sort of wanted an difinitive ending, but what they gave us was an open door.  Now that I think about it, that was a good thing just in case they ever want to make a movie or maybe even pick up the show some time.
I really liked this show.  I thought it was one of those odd shows that had great appeal.  Although the tension between Ned and Chuck was often pushed to the "oh my GOSH, JUST KISS", point, it worked well.  I'm going to really miss that one.  But, that writers strike really hurt a lot of shows.  Al

Already have a thread for this.. going to combine.

Just watched the last two episodes of this wonderful series... man am I going to miss it.

I loved the ending.. I know they tagged on the last five minutes to give a conclusion to all the characters story which was nice but it's still bitter sweet as there was so much more storytelling left in this verse. Oh well we have comics books and rumors of TV movies/movies.. so who knows maybe Ned will be able to bring this universe back to life again.

If you haven't watched this series it's a must.. one of the coolest and most innovated series in recent years. It only lasted two (short) seasons.. but made a big impact and has become one of my top ten all time favorite TV series.

Kenny, I agree.  It is a good show and I will miss it sorely.  I wasn't awfully crazy about the ending, but it was better than it could have been, that's for sure.  I hope that ABC will see what they've done and bring it back, or hey...maybe the SciFi channel? That would work!!!
