For those of you not in the know, wolverine is pretty much responsible for the creation of mutants in the Ultimate line.

Also, I saw a posting of the workprint and most torrent sites don't want to touch it because Fox is already bringing out the lawyers. I was curious, but the same thing happened with star wars from what I hear. Sites vanished because of it and people got taken into court. Be careful when you play with fire because it's not hard to get your ISP from a torrent.

Growing my side burns at the moment ready for the big night, no point growing sheds like these to watch the film on a computer screen, i need a cinema full of people to show off too. ;)

A new trailer is up.  It's labeled as "Exclusive Clip" - but it seems to be more a trailer.  Some new stuff in it.  See it here:

Here are some quick comments on the movie.  No real spoilers, but I don't want to taint anyone's view of the movie yet.
Ok - I just got back from it and found it pretty good - but I wanted more. I've read X-Men comics and Wolverine comics for many years (most likely more than just about anyone else here for the most part). So, I know the character very well. That did have some effect on what I thought of the movie. I'm of course well aware that some things have to be modified and changed for a film, but some of the changes here seemed like odd choices. Like Gambit for example. Why use him in the way they did in the movie? He isn't an old buddy of Wolverine at all. He even comes into the X-Men book much later on. They could have used another mutant in that part. Now, the action was pretty good in the film, but the flow at times was off I thought. Also, frankly I think Hugh Jackman's version of Wolverine worked better in the X-Men films.

Now, don't get me wrong I did enjoy the film to a degree. I just think they missed some good chances to do some more with things. But I enjoyed the first two X-Men movies quite a bit more (let's not even talk about #3). Basically, I just give this movie an average rating.
Totally with you on this one Rico.  I saw it Friday and I give it a B-.  Great action, but the flow was odd, I guess.  Much like the last couple of Schumacher Batman films it also seemed to suffer from the "too many characters syndrome".
I think it was Socrates who spoke the immortal words:  I drank WHAT?

Rico

Yeah, it could have been quite a bit better I think.  Just something seemed kind of off about it all.  It was almost like 2 or 3 different movies.  I think they needed a stronger director.

Well, despite the mediocre reviews...

'Deadpool' spinoff in works at Fox

Fresh off the muscular performance of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" at the boxoffice, Fox has thrown into development a spinoff featuring Deadpool, the wise-cracking mercenary played in the film by Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds is attached to reprise the character for what for now is simply being called "Deadpool." Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel Studios would act as producers.

Deadpool is known as "the merc with a mouth," a character that under Reynolds lived up to his billing in "Wolverine" until the end, when the movie deviated from the comic book persona, imbuing him with several superpowers and sewing his mouth shut.

It is understood that Reynolds would regain the ability to mouth off, with the movie going back to the roots of the character known for his slapstick tone and propensity to break the fourth wall. The character also was disfigured in "Wolverine," though it's unclear at this time how much the studio would want to mess with Reynolds' handsome mug.

The project is out to writers.

Fox considered a "Deadpool" spinoff early in "Wolverine's" development process, which is why it cast Reynolds. The actor was brought back in the month before the movie's release to shoot one of two "Easter egg" scenes that appeared after the end credits. The scene showed Deadpool alive, though when last audiences saw him, he appeared to be dead.

UTA-repped Reynolds next stars opposite Sandra Bullock in Disney's romantic comedy "The Proposal."

Sigh,....  :(

Bring on Captain America!  Thor!  Magneto!

Come on Marvel.  Deadpool?  Really?!?

Ladies like Ryan Reynolds. Ergo, more women would go see a movie starring Ryan Reynolds then Sir Ian McKellan.

Yay for marketing.

Maybe in a romantic comedy, but it didn't work for "Blade 3."

Well as someone twittered about yesterday. The MPAA should be quiet now because the movie is doing well and pushing around 90 million, Now they are going to have to take another look at how leaked/ downloaded movies affect the industry. Seems to me that it's doing pretty good for what everyone else has been calling an okay movie.
