Watching "Britains Got Talent" the other night, I was reminded that we should never assume. This might just choke you up, it did me.

Wow Tim.. she was amazing.. brought tears to my eyes..

Just goes to show you that Human beings have a long way to go. So judgemental just on the way she looked. Then they love her after she sings..

I loved her from the first moment I saw her, she was quirky and funny and then she wow'd me with her beautiful voice.

You gotta keep us non US updated on her progress.

Great voice.  It is a bit sad that looks seem to mean so much, but unfortunately that's part of the business of entertainment.  I hope she goes far.  If I was a record producer I would sign her up in a second.

That was awesome!  I cried too.  It made me want to go for it.  Life is too short to be held back by stereotypes!  :)

I have been and always will be, your friend.

Besides her having a beautiful voice, it's the song she choose. Les Miserable "I Dreamed a Dream" it seems so appropriate for her. I'm sure when she was growing up she didn't see her life as being 47 and alone (never being kissed). You can tell she feels the words to this song. I've listened to if about ten times and it makes me smile and tear up at the same time.

I couldn't play Tims link so i had to you tube search it. Its strange because i didnt judge her at all by her looks, its a shame that the audience were laughing at her but she got the last laugh. I have to say it brought a tear or two to my eyes she was amazing. I hope she goes far.

I absolutely love that. It's exactly what you all said. I just love the way everyones reactions changed when she started singing. She really is quite amazing.
I know not to judge people by what they look like, I've been made fun of before for affiliating myself with people like that, but I know them better then everyone else. Some of my best friends were very frequently judged like this (I take it that even I am judged like this, least in the past when I was in High School).

Geekyfanboy

Yeah I was harshly judged in high school and I'm still judged today for what I look like on the outside.. but luckily I don't give a crap anymore.

Her voice was great. I love the song "I Dreamed a Dream," and I admire that she was able to pull it off--emotionally and technically, that's a rough song to sing! (Now, if she suddenly whips out some soprano notes, I'll be doubly impressed.) It's so sad that you can see not only the judges, but people in the audience roll their eyes at her because of how she looked. Little did they know... :)

I heard Cowell has signed her up already, fair play. saying that after watching it again the audience reaction could well be from someone else as well, you know how they edit these things together. I'll be keeping an eye on her as i think she'll be on stage pretty soon.

My wife and I saw this the other day and we both were wowed by her performance. Les Miserable is one of our most favorite broadway productions and she performed "I Dreamed A Dream" spot on. She has an amazing voice. I'm sure that she will be able to find voice work from here on out no matter what happens in the contest. I doubt she will ever perfom on stage but there are many other opportunities for singers with her talents.

My boss made us watch this in the office the other day. We all loved her from the moment she walked on stage. She had confidence and charisma and she didn't seem phased by the reactions she was getting. GOOD! Angela has a Master's Degree in Theater, she said that this woman would be an instant shoo in for Broadway! I really hope she's right.  I want to track her—if you guys can post updates here that would be awesome!
