Can't get enough for your Buck?  You can watch the original series full episodes on-line here at NBC Vintage Shows.  Sci-Fi has come a long way since (thankfully).

I loved BR as a kid...and now it is almost unwatchable!  :ohmy

Unwatchable?  I have to disagree, man. :)

Despite the dated effects, the show strikes me as a type of simple, escapist sci-fi fun that seems to be hard to come by nowadays.  For example; while I love the new BSG, it's also cool to have a modern sci-fi adventure series without all of the angst, pathos, and gritty 'realism'.   There's a certain appeal to the thought of just switching off the brain and  taking a fun, mindless ride.  :)

I have to say though, I'd forgotten how they changed Twikki's voice for the new, "Exploration" season of the show.  I liked the deep-voiced, "diggy-diggy-diggy" Twikki much better than the newer, high-pitched one.

Like Bryancd, I watched it when I was a youngster and can barely watch it now.

In my memory, it's one of my all time favourites, along with the original BSG and others. I wasn't so fond of the Explorer series, but the original was great.

I don't think I could bear to look at it now. I don't want my illusions shattered.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Yeah; I thought that seeing it again, it wouldn't live up to my childhood memories of the show.  But when I checked out the Link posted by Vartok, I found myself getting sucked into the show.  It's cheesy and poorly produced by today's standards, but I've still got love for the show.

I'm with Eric on this.  Even back when this show was on it was obvious it was a bit corny.  But it was a lot of fun.  The charisma of the actors had a lot to do with it.  Still love it!

See, i never looked at it as corny, and that may have to do with me being just a few years younger than you Rico. I wasn't at the point of seeing the cheesy factor in BR or BSG production quality or acting or stories. It's funny how even a year or two in age when you are young can color your perceptions. When I watch it now, I love the nostalgia and remembering how much I loved it but that wanes and I am left with wow, this is really bad! It's more suprising than disappointing. Same with old BSG, when it started airing on SciFi a few years ago I watched and almost couldn't finish some episodes. And I'm not one to give up on the past.

...and no, I am not calling you old, Rico.

Seems this series was also big on Gene Roddenberry's use of the fair sex.  Mostly glamor and good looks (and skimpy outfits).  But what's not to like!
