Loved this one!  Awesome work man!!

Amazing show, best song yet Rick! Great submissions from all.

One thing I never quite got was the logic of separating the ship. It just seemed like a very unnecessary and dangerous move. Picard wants to protect the families. Fine. He asks Data how dangerous it would be to separate the ship at high warp. Data says it's theoretically possible but incredibly dangerous with no room for error. He does it.

Why perform an incredibly dangerous maneuver that can endanger the very people he is trying to protect?

Yes, I do realize that they needed and excuse to show that the ship can split in half. It jsut wasn't a good one.

Great podcast Rico, and wow what a voice Daron has. Lets have him on the RPG. Excellent song again Rick and cool comments from you all. I'm really going to have to but a decent microphone because i keep getting that whistling sound at the end of my sentences.

Loved the review of the very first TNG!!  This is the ONLY purchased TNG episode that I own.  Used to record it every week from a friend's satellite feed direct from Paramount.  I loved the Roddenberry nuances that are gone after 1991.  I may listen to the podcast again.  It was probably my favorite.

Been so busy lately around the house... wish I'd submitted something for that one.  Gotta keep a better eye on upcoming episodes.

And that AC/DC song cracked me up.  :)

I agree, the podcast was simply awesome.  Another hit from Rico!  Fantastic, the same thing I started listening for is what I stay listening for.  Good stuff!

Glad you guys enjoyed it.  I had a lot of fun doing it and we had some great contributions for this one.

I'm listening to this right now. Haven't gotten to Rick's song yet, but really enjoying the look at this premiere. I also liked the Q/Trelaine similarities. Although I am a Tasha fan as well, that clip of her at the trial made her sound way too shrill!

Well, I'd rather watch Encounter At Farpoint first and THEN get into the episode.  That way I don't get spoiled.  (Yes, I haven't watched Encounter At Farpoint.  I'm terrible.)

BJ
Love Star Trek TOS & TNG (never really got into DS9, Voyager, or Enterprise).  Also love Star Wars (everything save for the prequels...), and Indiana Jones, and ElfQuest, basically anything remotely SF or fantasy is my bag, tho I tend more towards SF than I do fantasy.

Okay, okay, you bullied me into it: I have now seen Farpoint.

And since I have, I can now speak halfway intelligently about it, and discuss the podcast.

I was actually expecting a full episode commentary on this one, mainly because a) it was the first ep of TNG, and b) I expected you to get into a big long discussion about how people just don't much care for Wesley (I certainly don't, although I respect Wil Wheaton a big deal, and follow him on Twitter, username wilw).

One niggle I have with this episode: The way Q enters is bound to get old as I watch more episodes of TNG, DS9, and Voyager.  I just don't much care for that particular special effect in TNG, otherwise the special FX in TNG are really good (better even than some of the Special FX that we see today).

Glad you had a chance to see where it all began on TNG - finally.  ;)

Ok, you can have your geek card back now. :)

Way to go man.
