For a change of pace, a little fun, and a week off for me I'm looking for someone to record a "Treks in Sci-Fi" podcast for a week.  The idea is to still follow the basic format:  news/info, episode review, collectible talk or other final thoughts.  The weekend I'm targeting right now is either for the August 24th show or sometime in September, but not Labor Day weekend (Aug. 31st).

If you are thinking you might want to give this a shot, email or PM me some details.  Of course you will need to be able to record a good sounding .mp3 file.  You also will need to gather any other clips, etc. you will need to do the show.  I'd want to know the Trek episode you want to cover too.  Make sure it's one I haven't covered yet.  Also, the show should be in the hour length range, up to say 75 minutes at most.

I think this will be fun and give folks a nice change of pace.  If I get multiple people wanting to do this, I will pick one and maybe work with the others for some future shows.  Keep in mind, this is a fair amount of work so make sure you can really do it if you say you want to.

If I'm not crazy, I recall the Moyers hosting a show way back when. That was great.

Another way of going about this is to have a guest co-host where Rico and someone do a podcast together. Kind of like a skype call but with only one other person.

Oh I wish it wasn't crazy here at work.. I would love to do it. But with work and us starting the rpg.. I don't see it happening..

But it's a great idea Rico.

I don't have the equiptment to do anything like a podcast otherwise i'd jump at the chance. I'd like to see a return of Mr and Mrs Moyer, the last podcast they did together was great.

Rico

I plan on trying to do a bit more of this, when it works out.  A co-host for a show as well sometime.  Just like keeping things new and interesting.

I think its a great idea. Who knows if i'm passing your neck of the woods i'll time it for a sunday morning and join in.

Eh, I don't have the equipment or voice for it.  Otherwise I'd do it.

Oh, darn it, my ego says go for it Timmy, but practicality and lack of equipment says otherwise. But I like the idea of the Moyers doing another show.

Well, Amy does have a few favorite episodes... :)  But you guys hear from the Moyer's all the time!  We will help anyway we can.  This is a great forum, nice community and a kicking podcast!!!!  Thanks Rico for all you do!

I have been and always will be, your friend.

Many hands make light work to send Rico on holiday.

If we all sent in reviews or commentary's of any sci-fi TV episode, movies or music or collectable until there was an hours worth of material. The guest host can access them on your server and string a "Pot-luck" show together.

I can put together at least a ten minute review when I get rid of that tin can I use to record with :)

Don't know if that would be very practical for a guest host to do, but it would make an interesting show none the less.

Sounds awesome.  Let me know if i can help

I think a joint podcast with Jen, Rick and Amy. Two girls against the godd Mr Moyer ha ha. If the guest host would like a review or comment i'd happily do one if needed.

Rico

I like your idea Dave.  It's what I did with the video cast on # 185.  Getting segments from the listeners.  I think I have some guest hosts set for August 24th.  Should be a fun change of pace.  But again, this won't be the last of it.
