My wife and I watched this and when Genny died, she was visibly upset vowing to never watch Doctor Who again because it was too predictable in that they weren't going to allow the Doctor to have such a big change.

When Genny later returned, she was still upset but decided not to boycott. She felt Genny should be with her dad.

Here are some things that stood out for me:

1) The doctor said that he had a family and they all died. While we know the first doctor had a granddaughter, we never knew where she came from or if she was biological.

2) Genny came back but how? She didn't regenerate in the proper sense. Is the first regeneration a freebie?

this was a strong story and I am glad that they had the balls to keep Genny alive even if the Doctor doesn't know.

OMG... I just read some spoilers for this season finale and I am blown away, if they are true this is going to be one heck of a finale for season four. I'm bummed that I read them but I started and told myself to stop but kept on reading as it was soooooo goooood. I did read that some of the stuff in the spoilers were not true and were.. so I guess I'll have to wait and see. But even if half the spoilers are true, it's still going to be a WOW season finale. I won't post them here as I don't want anyone to be tempted like I was. :)

I've read so many things regarding the end of this season plus of course we (i) know what the plot is for the Xmas special. Thinking of starting a post relating to classic Who, hmmmmm may well do. Last weeks Agatha Christie episode was middle of the road, not the worst mind that was srtill episode 1. Nice link here though ,the revereand in that episode played along side Peter Davison in Spamalot here in London. Tedious link there ha ha

Awesome, the first series to have Billie Piper, Freeman Agyeman, and Catherine Tate, one with all three in the same episode! Its gonna be an awesome rest of the series!!!!  Just a question, is the US getting the epi's earlier or the BBC, because right now, they are very close, which is a first I think over here. We usually got them after they had their run on BBC.

The US is about three episode behind the UK.

You'll never catch us up ha ha ha ha (that was done in a evil laugh). I'm looking forward to the next half, and of course the king Moffat is heading our way. I've just got my hands on the first 3 stories of Doctor Who (William Hartnell) I've had them on tape but to have them on DVD is like Christmas come early.

Ok so last Saturdays episode of Doctor Who was amazing. Silence in the library written by the excellent Stephen Moffat. Pure classic Dr Who though the alien in the suit at the end is very Scooby Doo in fact i saw a similar picture in the paper the other day. A mystery woman makes this episode so enticing. Who is she? where did she com from? and why does she own a diary that looks like the Tardis?

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER (This does give stuff away so don't read it if you don't want to know)

Episode 9 Forest of the Dead.

Ok so this is the follow up to last weeks excellent episode Silence in the Library again written by Steven Moffat. This episode once again packs a punch better than Mike Tyson. Moffat's ingenious way of writing really does show here. The mysterious River Song played by the excellent Alex kingston really grabs you in and she whispers something in the Doctors ear. We are kept waiting until the end to find out what she whispered. Well she whispered the Doctors name. Now for those people who want to have a guess go ahead, or read the book Lungbarrow, though this won't give you the full answer it certainly opens up a lot of doors.
I'm not a great fan of Catherine Tate (as you all know) but i do have to say i thought she was excellent in this episode, she really gave a emotional performance.

So great episode, another excellent offering from Steven Moffat

Just watched the Moffat two parter.. I have no doubt that Who will live on under his direction. He has continued to write the best episodes for each season and this one did not disappoint. The character River was so interesting and it's great that they give you enough info to make you happy but far from enough to not make you want more. I wonder how far in the future he will meet her. And for those more into the Who lore.. he says he would only tell his name to one person (would this be his true love?) Catherine was awesome as usual, that woman can act!!! I felt bad that she found her true love and lost him... and think he was only a figment of her imagination... poor Donna. And they keep eluding to Donna not being around much longer.. something is up with her.. Do we know if Catherine has signed on for more then one season?

Can't wait to see what happens next..

I think that only his wife would know his real name, but that's just me.
