Anyone have ideas how we can get guests to signup ?  Some forums I frequent do not allow you to read postings - or at least limit which topics you can read.

Rico

Guests can see most of the forum.  Only a few areas are restricted.  I will try to continue to announce it on the podcast too.

P.S.  Keep in mind some guests may just be bots (like from Google) that scan the web for items to link to, etc.

Yeah, I've wondered about that... especially when there's a million billion guests on at the same time looking at very similar pages.

Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

I actually enjoy the smaller group that we have here.. I've joined several other forums and you get lost in the vastness of it all. Our group is like friends hanging out at our favorite spot chatting about geeky things. Occasionally we get into a tussle (what friends don't) but for the most part things are nice and quiet around here. Now with that said I'm not oppose to new folks joining us. We've had some really great newbies join in the recent months. But on average out of ten new people joining only about 2 stick around to become part of the Treksf family. Out of the 242 members we have now only 100 or so post once in a while and about 30 or so post every week and of that 30 about 15 of them post everyday. So being a small group isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I agree as in art our favorite saying was "Less Is More"..... :)

I have to agree Kenny.  RL has really taken me off the boards for the most part so its hard for me to keep up.  I hate to join forums with huge amount of members because then it just makes my opinion seem unneeded when there are 10 posts about the same thing.  Its why I've stayed with the Treksf boards for so long and so consistently.

<3   you all!!

I've always found in life quality is more important than quantity.

If people want to join in they will. No point bringing in people that aren't going to participate.
