Here is the song for those of you that want it.

Enjoy.

Just the two of us, Neelix and Tuvok

I see planet and its flowers
And all the medicinal powers
As Tuvoc and I trade barbs again
So beaming up we have some times
One together body and minds
And all of the sudden I'm in  you
Just the two of us
We can make this spaceship fly
Just the two of us
Just the two of us
Merged together as one guy
Just the two of us
You and I

So we have to pick a name
But it isn't a fun game
Cause Neelix and Tuvoc just don't jive
So we try some just for kicks
We come up with the name Tuvix
Together our minds are sharp so far

Just the two of us
We can make this spaceship fly
Just the two of us
Just the two of us
With a sparkle in our eye
Just the two of us
You and I

Kess she starts to fall in love
However she can't let go of
The fact that Tuvok has wife
In the mess hall by and large
Tuvix rescues and takes charge
Making better food than Neelix ever did

Janeway uses the hypo spray
the isotopes come into play
Neelix and Tuvok are their own guys

Just the two of us
We can make this spaceship fly
Just the two of us
Just the two of us
We used to be a flower and two guys
Just the two of us
You and I

Man - I so love these songs you come up with!  Thanks so much for doing them.

P.S.  I'm covering "Hollow Pursuits" and Barclay next week.  Definitely easy pickins for a song Rick.  ;)

I'm really enjoying this one Rico, I find you're talking more then on previous full commentaries.

Rico

I tried to do that.  It's a bit tricky.  I find I want to stop when important stuff is going on so you can hear that.  So I have to balance when to speak and when to stop, etc.  It's fun to do it this way once in awhile.

billybob476

I know it's a big challenge to do these. Based on director's commentary tracks I've listened to, I notice that the ones I enjoy (Ron Moore's podcast, Family guy DVD's, etc) the commentators tend to start on a thought and finish it regardless of what's going on on the screen. If they miss an important scene where they could have made a comment, well, too bad.

I'd venture to say that most of us have seen the episode and wouldn't mind you talking over a more important part. You can always refer to it after it happened.

Not trying to come down on you at all Rico and I know I couldn't do better if i tried. Just offering some constructive criticism.

Rico

No problem at all, and I am trying to follow that style more.  Another issue is volume control.  I try to find a balance of show volume and my voice.  Again, a tricky thing.  Always open to suggestions.  I do still favor the clip shows.  They are easier for me to construct my thoughts for each clip, etc.  But again, I try to mix things up and keep it fun.

Hey Rico,

Thanks again for including my modified Voyager theme in your Podcast. Every once and awhile I get to sit down to my MIDI Seq / DAR to have some fun. Loved putting it together. Figured I go synth-phonic instead of "house" with the sound clips on top. Hard not to get carried away. Anyway, least I can do for all the work you do on such a great podcast.

Rob
P.S. I was wondering if I could assist you on the comment below. What DAR are you using to record the podcast. I am using Adobe Audition. I could get you a Eval if you're interested. It is a very good multitrack DAR. Even if you have a slower PC I could get you a eval of the older versions that still very very good. It allows you to record as many tracks as you wish and then do automation of the mix. There is also a great Podcast at http://www.audio2u.com/?cat=3 that teaches all version from 1.5 to version 3 for free! Let me know if you're interested.  :thumbsdown  :thumbsup  :juggle

Great podcast Rico, it's been ages since i saw that episode and to hear your commentary over the episode was brilliant. Once again Rick you blow our minds with another great song. Still think you should compile a CD and sell it. Great Voyager mix as well Metron07, really enjoyed that. Great podcast all together Rico, look forward to next weeks episode.

Rico

Rob - I just use Audacity to record the podcast along with two computers and a mixer with a decent microphone.  Not sure I could handle anything more complex.  But thanks for the offer.

Another great podcast!  My knowledge of Voyager is weak so I like listening to these.  All I have to say Rick:

whahahahhahaah.  tooooo funny and keep em coming!!

Rico,

Have used Audacity myself and its a great DAR.  Where Audition is really different is in it's effects and it's mixdown. It has a console with faders it also works great with every standard PC sound card as well as more high end gear.
I have a older single core PC that I run Cakewalk Home studio for the Midi music then I mix down to a wav file I import into Audition and finish the project from there. The new version of Audition does midi but that's out of the budget right now.
Anyway once I import the music into Audition I then start creating or downloading the sound files of speech and just drop them where I need them in as many tracks as I like. Then the fun begins with the mixdown right to MP3 if I wish. I learned the basic operation of the software by listening to the podcast I mentioned below on my commute to work over the past several months which is the only free time I regularly have to study that stuff. Podcasts are the bomb!
