Violet Blue tried to get a picture with Steve Jobs at macworld.  She runs some kind of sex advice blog on the interent (I think.)  So she touches Steve's arm and askes for a picture.  He informs her that she is rude and turns around and walks the other way.

Here is the account from the fake Jobs.

That's a funny story.  Interesting thing is though I've seen some celebs over the years that were not thrilled by being approached by people - even Trek stars I've seen be a bit "brisk" at times.  You always have to judge the place and circumstances and gauge the situation.  Sometimes you get lucky and other times not so much.

Isn't it also a bit odd that Steve Jobs would be wandering the show floor? I'm surprised he wasn't mobbed.

I could see where this would bother Steve Jobs if true. Everyone has their own level of personal space, which we adjust given the situations we are in. I am sure he did not appreciate a touch, however soft it maybe, as it would be an unwarranted touch from a stranger without permission. She may have approached Steve from an angle he did not see and was startled, or maybe the manner in which she initiated the contact did not sit well with him. As Rico says, sometimes it is better to give people their space and privacy.

Also he reportedly said "No that would be rude" in response to Violet's request to take a picture with him. He may have meant that if he took a picture with her and no one else it would be rude, not that she was rude.

Almost all of the celebs I met are more than happy to pose for pictures, sign autographs, shake hands, and mingle with the people if they are somewhere in public where a gathering of fans are.  Like a celeberty tourniment, conventions, hotel lobby, backstage area, airport, etc.

If they are having dinner or doing something with their kids they shouldn't be bothered.

I would think mac world would be a place where if Jobs is there, he would be open to meeting and greeting.

Still, I have to agree with Steve Jobs.  I don't like just being touched by any person thats walking around.  Its an invasion of my personal space and unless you think you know you can, its just best to greet verbally rather than physically.

Good story,
Steve Jobs is famous for being extremely outspoken and at times brutally rude. His tirades at Apple are legendary.
I'm sure any rebuff she got was meant for her.
