Having been back 'home" this week with my family on a trip, I realized how powerful and wonderful that word is..."family". It gives us a sense of center, security, understanding, love. While I was away spending time with my brother, sister, father, step-mother, there were only two things I seemed to miss. My wife and conversing with all of you. I participate actively in a number of forums, both sci fi and triathlon related. And yet, when I heard about what happend to the Moyer family, I was amazed at how emotional I felt towards a family I didn't even really know except for thier participation here. That was a very interesting response from me. I am your classic Type A personality nut job and yet I found myself drawn to this forum just to check up on them and to see what all of you were saying. I relized that I cared about you all and that was a wonderful way to feel.
So to my Treks in Sci-Fi family I say thank you for being such a wonderful community and thank you to Rico for bringing us all together. I have never been so proud to have such fine virtual friend. Happy Holidays to you all, love eachother as much as we love......being complete and total geeks.  :cheers

Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

I completely and whole heatedly agree.

I love you folks!

I'm studying for my sermon tonight, and you guys will have to hear it, you're in it.  So many great things happened in the midst of tragedy, it's pretty amazing.

My emotions were raw already, but seriously, you guys don't know how much it helped me and comforted me to know there were people pulling for us.  Especially ones that I talk to everyday.

Our world is much smaller now, because of the Internet we can really have cool friends that don't live close to us.  I think that is amazing.  You know what is even cooler?  I think if we did live in the same town, we would all be good friends.  What a diverse group of cool people.

Kudos everyone. :cheers

I'm glad to be a part of this great Trekkie Geeky Forums.  Its been a pleasure meeting and talking with you all.  Its given me an outlet for my trek side.  Its also given me a place to check up on REAL news.  Things that are actually important and not on the 6 o clock news.

Thank you all!

Merry Christmas!

Well said Bryan.... :cheers

From the moment I wake up to the last thing I do before I go to bed, this forum is the first and last thing I check online. While I work I keep a window open with Trek SF forum up for eight to ten hours every weekday. Like Bryan I belong to other forums but this is the only one that I miss when I'm away from my computer and it's the only one that I participate in everyday. Yes this forum talks about all the geeky things I love and yes I am a moderator but it's the people that keep me coming back again and again. It's the friends I have made that keep me searching and posting interesting news about TV, Movies, Books, and everything else geeky. I have always known we have a special group of people here and when one of our members was in trouble and we banded together and came to his aid it confirmed it... this is the best, most caring group of forum friends online and I am proud to call all of you friend.

Theres not a lot more I can add, so I'll just have to agree with everyone hear. I will say one thing though. I do feel a little guilty If I have not visited the forums for a while. It's the only forum that really gets me that way. Merry Christmas to you all.  :metallica:

Ditto what everyone else said!

When I first joined this forum, I had no idea what an awesome and diverse group of people I would have the honor of interacting with.  Of all the forums I belong to, this is the only one that I check in on several times every day.  Even when I don't have time to log in and post, I enjoy seeing all of the different topics being discussed both intelligently and with respect to those with differing points of view.

Thanks for welcoming me so warmly when I first joined; this forum feels like home!  Y'all are the best! :cheers
