I know that there are a few fellow BSG fans here, and I was wondering-

What is your favorite episode of Battlestar Galactica from the last 3 seasons?

For me, it would be Exodus, Pt. 2.  In fact, I think that this episode is not only the best episode of the series thus far, it just might be one of the best 45 minutes of Sci-Fi TV in the past few years! ;D

This is the episode that wrapped up the first arc of season 3- the "New Caprica arc".  After being contacted by the resistance, the Galactica and Pegasus stage a daring rescue of the colonists.  While the Pegasus distracts the orbiting cylon fleet, the Galactica performs an FTL jump into the planet's atmosphere, launching vipers as it plummets towards the planet's surface.  At the last moment, the flame-enshrouded Galactica jumps back into space, while the vipers provide cover for the fleeing colonists.

The drama and well-executed action scenes in this episode provided an emotional payoff that made the wait between seasons well worthwhile.

So what are some of your favorite episodes?

I used that jump into the atmosphere to get people to start watching the show. That is by far one of the most amazing episodes action-wise.

I literally just watched the first few hours of the mini series. I thought I would watch the series after hearing all of your comments on this board.

I will say that the first few hours are a tad slow but the SFX is really nice.
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

The mini series is a little slow, they set everything up with a lot of detail. However, once you're done, the first episode of season 1 "33" is also hailed as one of the best episodes of the series.

I think first season episode "33" was incredible.

"Exodus, Part two" is my all time favorite episode. I also like "Downloaded" the episode where Six and Sharon (second Boomer) form a rebellious pact, agreeing to use their status as heroes of the Cylons to "change things for the better".

And "The Eye Of Jupiter" where Six decides the baby, Hera, is worth saving and agrees to help Sharon take her back to Galactica, betraying her fellow Cylons.

Downloaded is definitely in my top 5 list; that episode was great!  I liked the inside look into the politics and motivations of the flesh and blood cylons.  I found this video on youtube that was inspired by the episode.  Check it out; it's actually pretty good.

I agree.  "33" kicks things off with a bang, and does a great job of letting the viewers know exactly what they are getting into.  It becomes immediately apparent that life in the rag-tag fleet is no Walk In The Park.

Damn you. That clip made me really want to go watch some BSG!

For me, I agree with the Others, 33 was great and one of my favorites. I also really enjoyed Scar from season 2, and The Passage from season 3. I really like when they have episodes focused on the Viper Pilots

Oh man.. you are going to make me choose... I don't the the titles of the episodes as well as I do with Star Trek.. I've only seen each episode once of BSG. But I agree with you guys here.. I think season three had less good ones then the other two seasons.. but almost all BSG episodes are great.
