ABC To Air Masters Of SF

ABC will finally air episodes of Masters of Science Fiction in a four-week run starting Aug. 4, Zap2it.com reported.

From the same producers as Showtime's Masters of Horror, the anthology series was initially considered a mid-season show; ABC ordered six episodes, but now plans to air only four in the death timeslot, Saturdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

There's no word yet on which four installments will air. The hourlong shows feature adaptations of stories by such SF masters as Robert A. Heinlein and Harlan Ellison, as well as Walter Mosley. Actors taking part include Terry O'Quinn (ABC's Lost), John Hurt (V for Vendetta), Anne Heche, Judy Davis, Sam Waterston and Malcolm McDowell (NBC's Heroes), the site reported.

I don't like anthologies, so I'll pass.

Hmmm...sounds interesting to me. I might check it out. Thanks Kenny for posting that!

My friend Mad Morf was talking about this with me the other day. I think it sounds awesome! Just the fact they are doing stories from classic SF authors is enough to get me to check it out. I hope they do a good job of this, because IMO there is a big need for this type of show in tv.

Did anyone catch the first episode of this?

I did.  I thought it was good, very different.  Another one is on tonight at 10pm here.

What did you folks think of the first one with Law and Order star Sam Watertson?

Tonight our good buddy from Lost Terry O'Quinn will star.  Should be interesting.

Well I watched the one from Sat night, and I thought it was decent. I think there are a lot of better stories they could have picked, but the production values were pretty good.  I love the idea that classic Sci-Fi stories will be back on tv.... although I don't know that I would classify that story as classic.

I watched the first one with Sam Waterston and thought it was interesting and well acted.  Although the whole memory loss thing has been kind of done a lot lately.  I've got the second one on my TIVO and will watch it soon.

Checked out the first episode of this, it was actually very good, but not your normal sci-fi anthology.

Did anyone see the latest episode of this?? I was based on a Harlan Ellison short story, and he helped with the screenplay.  I thought it was pretty dang good!! I definitely wish there was more of this kind of stuff on tv. Too bad it has a horrible time slot. I have my doubts whether it will last.

So sad..
