Our next door neighbor's dog Zoe had 10 puppies early this week (5 boys and 5 girls).  She's a golden retriever and breed with another golden too.  Zoe is a sweetheart of a dog too.  They have kindly offered to give us a puppy.  They are very cute!  So it looks like a new dog is in our near future.    :porthos

OMG. THEY ARE ADORABLE :) :)

AWESOME!  They are so cute!

Tess, our wonder dog, had eight puppies years ago,

and we just saw one of the the other day.  Except she bred with a big black lab, and the puppies were HUGE!  I felt sorry for her.  We got  her fixed after that because she couldn't handle it.  It kind of made her crazy.  She's ok now, but at the time we almost lost her.  We sure loved the puppies though, they were a blast.  Dogs are great!

So, have you been thinking of a cool name for your new puppy?

Hmmm strange I posted in the thread  a few hours ago and it disappeared... anyways

Congrats Rico.. I  know how much you love dogs, they'll be a very lucky puppy living with your family. Have you choosen a boy or a girl?

That's great Moyer about seeing Tess's puppies all grown up now.

Puppies are just so darn cute.

Awwwwww --- cute.   So, what does the cat think of all this ???  Is she declawed ?

Rico

Almost positive we will pick a girl.  I've been favoring the name Kaylee (since the mom is named Zoe - get the Firefly connection?)....

Lynn and the boys have some other name ideas.  Nice pictures of the other dogs too guys.  I do love animals - cats, dogs, etc.  It will be nice to hear the pitter-patter of little paws again.  ;)

P.S.  Mark - Dominoe our cat managed to live with our previous dog, so it will be ok.  Yes, she is declawed and an indoor cat only.

Had to babysit the new pups a bit this morning while the neighbors were out.  It's amazing to see how much instinct is in the puppies and the momma dog too.  They make these little squeaking noises as the eat and while they sleep too.  And they are getting even cuter....

Catherine just looked at the puppies and exlaimed "ohhhhhhh! Their so cute!"

If I was a dog person I'd want one those. BUT I'm not. Sad but true! I'm into cats!

You know Kevin.. I was the same way.. grew up with cats and loved them. Got a dog for the first time a few years ago and couldn't imagine my life without her.

My current wife had a dog when we married and he really took to me. He was a Chow/Keeshan mix and looked like a little bear. I liked him alright but he left us a couple years ago for the great dog pound in the sky and then we bought two cats. Cats just demand so much less from you than dogs and that's one of the many reasons I like them. I won't say I'd never have another dog it would just have to be pretty special.

I've always enjoyed all types of pets and animals.  Even wanted to be a vet in my early college days.  Growing up we had pretty much every type of pet you could have.  Dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, turtles, snakes, gerbils, rabbits, you name it.

One thing I'm very convinced of even more now is the calming effect of having a pet - especially a dog.  When Cheyenne was still with us and I would come home from work just seeing her so happy to see me would erase any tension the day had brought me.  Looking forward to having a dog around again.

I think I like cats more then dogs.  Had a few growing up and while they more fun then cats -- one of our dogs had puppies.   OMG -- no one told me they "clean up" after the little guys.   Still gives me **shivers**

Well, my two monsters have been "hermedically sealed" so none of that will be happening around here.   I will admit -- nothing cuter then babies/baby animals.
