So I caught the first episode of the third season of the New Doctor Who. This time it's the same Doctor but a different Companion. I really enjoyed the episode. The story was very simple and it seemed to just fly by. The effects were awesome and I liked the aliens in this one.. I can't remember their names.. something like Judoo. Of course I noticed that Rose was missing but I really like Martha Jones. I think she will grow in this role, I like how open minded she is. David Tennet as the Doctor was exactly the same as last season. This was a pretty good start to another great season of Who.

Doctor Who was as good as always and I have to say I really liked Martha. The Judoon were pretty cool but I'm afraid that British TV always makes aliens look like guys in cheap rubber suits, Its just a thing we cannot compete with you Americans. However, we can write good stories and I have read the synopsis for the rest of the series and its going to be really good with episode three being somewhat of a tear jerker. (Kenny, I will talk to about this later)

Hi

I have seen the first two episodes of the new who and really enjoyed it.

I was never a very big fan of Rose anyway so was glad to see the back of her at the end of the last season. Its only a pity they didn't kill her off as they promised.

Martha fitted into perfectly and holds her own much better against the Doctor. The stories have been as daft as ever but that's part of the fun. If I want gritty drama there are plenty of other shows I can watch.

So far very impressed with the new season.
The hall is rented, the orchestra engaged. Now its time to see if you can dance...

How could not love Rose... she was perfect with the Doctor. I do like Martha, but Rose had something speical about her and I'm glad they didn't kill her off.. that would have made me very upset.

Guys,

just thought I'd drop a note for those interested. Season 3 of Dr Who is currently airing in the UK and so far its been pretty good. We've had 3 episodes so far its going well, the most recent episode saw some familiar faces from past seasons and next week looks like a real stunner (won't say why for spoiler reasons).

I don't know if you guys get the Dr Who Confidential over in the states, its the behind the scenes show they air after the main episode. If you do get the chance its worth a watch to see just who small scale it is compared to anything the US networks produce. Its fair to say the production of Dr Who is like the Tardis, really small but huge in entertainment value.

anyway catch you later guys        :dalek

Man I am still watching the second season. So far I'm loving it and can't wait to see S3.

I really like Rose so I'm not sure how I will like Martha, but if the shows keeps the good writing and pacing, I'm sure she will be a great companion too.

In the meantime I will keep enjoying S2.

Yeah, this season is looking pretty good and the last one to view was a bit of a tear jerker and there was a huge bomb dropped to the Doctor. (I'm pretty sure I got that one worked out) The writing still seems as good as always and Martha is showing that she can replace Rose easily but I still miss Billie

SCI FI Picks Up Who Year 3

SCI FI Channel announced that it will air the third season of BBC's Doctor Who, beginning in July. The new season will kick off with the Doctor Who Christmas special "The Runaway Bride," guest-starring award-winning British comedy actress Catherine Tate.

In season three, David Tennant returns as the time-traveling Doctor, joined by a new companion, Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman). The first episode of the season is called "Smith and Jones."

In the third season, which is already airing in the United Kingdom, the Doctor and Martha meet William Shakespeare, deal with bloodsucking alien Plasmavores, encounter the Judoon (a clan of galactic stormtroopers) and uncover a Dalek plot in 1930s New York.

The second season of the new Doctor Who earned impressive ratings during its airing on SCI FI, delivering an average of more than 1 million viewers each week.

Doctor Who is produced by Phil Collinson. Executive producers are Julie Gardner, the head of drama, BBC Wales, and Russell T. Davies, who is also lead writer.

So is anyone else watching the third season of Doctor Who?  This season has been good.. I like the new companion but there hasn't been any stand out episode or episodes, you know... when it's over you just sit there and say WOW...Well I just got done watching Episode 8 & 9 of the third season. And this was it.. my WOW episodes this season. With season one it was a two parter "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances", season two was "Girl in the Fireplace" and now season three another two parter "Human Nature" and "The Family of Blood".  We only have a few more new episodes for the third season and next month they start airing it here in the states on Sci Fi. If you are not watching this new reincarnation of the classic Doctor Who you are really missing out on some great sci fi.

Kenny,

I saw only a couple episodes of season one and I really liked what I saw. Unfortunately I have not seen anything more. I was planning on buying the season sets until I saw the BBC was wanting $70.00 for what in the U.S. would sell for about $30.00. So, I abandoned my hopes of watching the series. I guess I'll wait until PBS picks them up which I guess has happened.

My son and I are up to episode six now.  Pretty good so far.  I like the new companion for the Doctor.  Fun stuff!

I just finished watching the final three part finale of season three. I really enjoyed the first two parts and the final part was good but not my favotire Who finale. I LOVED LOVED Martha in this episode.  She has really grown into this role. A few big "OH MY GOD" moments... the big on was what they called Captain Jack as a kid... and of course what is going to happen to ?? will they be back???

No spoliers.. I'll wait till more people have watched it before we chat about what happen.

Another great season of Who... I think this season had more "just okay" episodes then the first and second... but still some very wonderul episodes this year.

Trekkygeek

I have two episodes to catch up on now. All I can say is that they have really upped the anti in this season. I cannot recall enjoying Doctor Who as much as this season.
