Shrek Asks â€" Why Stop At Three?

With the overwhelming success of “Shrek the Third” (nearly $260 million U.S. to date) you knew it had to happen. We just didn’t expect an announcement so soon after the release of the third film in the “Shrek” franchise.

In a interview today with Courier Mail Jeffrey Katzenberg, DreamWorks’ animation honcho, gave the release years for a fourth and yes, wait for it â€" a fifth “Shrek” film.

“The fourth film will come out in 2010 and the fifth in 2013,” said Katzenberg.

Looks like Mike Myers has just added two more flicks to his growing to do list.

I don't know about anybody else -- but I'm really getting tired of sequels.

Agreed, but I heard that this Shrek III stunk (I really don't know, I really don't trust most of my sources...).  I hope they still have good ideas because most sequels are often busts.  Pirates of the Carribean was good, the second was not so good, the third one was pretty good, which then made the second movie look better.  Along with that I HOPE THEY DON'T MAKE ANY PREQUELS BECAUSE I JUST HATE THEM.  I think the action from Shrek I and its humor really made it famous.  But there is such a thing as "over doing it."

Well I enjoyed Shrek the Third. The story wasn't as strong as the first two films but I wouldn't say it stunk by any means.  I'll be buying it when it come out on DVD.

I'll take your word for it man.  I can believe it, but I'll make up my mind in the end.  For now I'm rather busy with pressing business.  Won't be able to do anything fun until after oh say a week from this Saturday...  I'm lucky that I'm even on the forums now
