Im reading the Honor Harrington series, on the first one now, On Basilisk Station.

I absolutely love the book so far and especially his style of writing. He has an 'Ian Fleming attention to detail' way of writing. Although Fleming could put you to sleep with some of it.

Anyone here read any of his other stuff? Non-Harrington that is.

I've read several of the Honor Harrington novels.  I loved the Horatio Hornblower feel to them.  But I will admit that they eventually became too political and much to follow.

Haven't tried that series yet.  I'll give it a look.  Oh, and welcome Zortic!

Thanks for the welcome.

Speaking of Horatio Hornblower, has anyone read that series?  I have to admit that I picked it up based on my appreciation of Star Trek.  Supposedly Captain Kirk was based on Horatio.  I loved the book series, but I found it interesting that Captain Picard seemed to be much closer to the C.S. Forester character.

I have read all the Honor Harrington books, and I loved them for the most part. The last two, not as much. Well I should say the 2nd to last one not as much, it was a bit slow in my opinion. The latest one picked things back up a bit. The first ones were really good though.

I have some of his other books, but they are one the reading list for me, I just haven't gotten to them yet.

I am sure you're gonna be enjoying the honor books though, some of the space battle descriptions are incredible!! :tealc

I knew the Honor fans would show.
I have the first two, reading On Basilisk Station now, although its mixed in with my reading Deana Martins book about her famous father Dean, so it will take me a while to finish.

And yes, if you are a fan of Dean or old enough to remember him, its a fantastic read.

Hmm....Matt Helm v Jim Kirk .....who would win  :-)

We now return you to science fiction.....
