GG Obi-Wan in Clone Trooper Armor Statue

I'm not generally into statues. They're usually too expensive for me, but I couldn't pass on this one.

It's delayed a bit, but word from the GG Collectors forum is that it's showing up in Hong Kong, which means it's on its way.

I can't recall the last time I was this impatient to get a collectible.

Has anyone else ordered this?

Thats a very nice Statue, I had heard of this Statue, but this the first time I actually seen any pictures.

Sad news, I'm cancelling my preorder.

I've seen pics of the production version and it's horrendous.

Even though it's going to cost me a $21 restocking fee, I just can't spend good money on this.

The prototype is the one on the right.

This was my most-anticipated collectible of the year, and Gentle Giant seriously dropped the ball. Not only are the paint applications primitive, but the face appears, especially from other photos, to have been squished and stretched.

I could not be more disappointed right now.

WAIT! Don't cancel it yet. Most Wanted Collectibles sent an email saying they won't charge a restock fee, IF this is indeed the final product. But if it's a fluke, or a mistake, you'll may still want it.
It is incredibly disappointing if it is the final version. I didn't order it, but I'm looking forward to at least two statues this year - I hope this isn't indicative of the quality of the rest of the statues this year.

I haven't made it all the way through the thread yet - I ignored it until today since I hadn't actually planned on getting this statue. I hope you're able to work something out with Danny.
On the other hand, if it really does turn out this bad, perhaps I'll be able to pick one up on eBay for really cheap. Like someone suggested, maybe cut the head off, and replace it with a clone head - like the AFX Exclusive clone.

Is it suppose to be in the animated style like the Leia and Padme piece? Maybe that would explain the final product.

No, they already released an Animated Obi in Clone Armor, this one's supposed to be the realistic style. Now, if they changed their minds after they announced it, and tried to go for a quasi-animated-real, then that might explain it, but it seems kinda strange to me.

Wow, that is quite a difference, night and day for sure. I agree the paint looks terrible on it, and the likeness way off. Hopefully like Ryan said, that this is not the final product.

I've got an update on this one. Danny @ ComicStatues.com allowed me to cancel my order without paying a fee. Nice guy. Check out his site for your statue purchases. Great customer service.
