I was wondering if any of you Amazon Prime users monitor your purchases from them? I have been having a lot of problems with them for the last six months or so. I can't tell you how many times I have made a purchase and purposefully selected the option with Prime expecting two day shipping and it never arrives in two days. It's often five days out and when I go back to the purchase to verify delivery it now states five to ten business days and the Prime logo is gone. Recently I pre-ordered Agents of Shield on Blu-Ray. The release date was Sept. 9th and I just got today. Prime members are supposed to get it the day of release. I rarely ever get the item on release day any more. I complained about the Marvel Blu-Ray and they did credit me $10.00 for the inconvenience but I'm getting tired of having to monitor and take screen shots of all my purchases. I'm convinced that Amazon knows most Prime members are not tracking their items all that closely and I suspect they are trying to save shipping costs. When I first joined I had great service but it's getting worse and worse. I am at the point where I told them I will not renew unless they start delivering as promised.

They have always honored the lowest price guarantee and have always credited my card so no problems there. However, I have been finding more and more that I am shopping around locally on many movie and music titles because Amazon has been higher on price about 90% of the time lately. Case in point was the recent release of Looney Tunes Vol. 3 on Blu-ray. Amazon wanted $34.99 and they never lowered that and Sam's Club has it for $29.99. Sam's used to never have anything lower than Amazon and now I'm finding many titles are lower. Walmart also has lower prices.

Anyway, I just thought I'd vent my frustration with the Prime membership and see if any other members follow your orders close enough to see if you are getting real "Prime" privileges or are you getting taken too?

Well, I mostly buy books from them and generally, they can't be beat on price. The couple of times we have found stuff cheaper we got a credit fairly quickly. In general, I get pretty good service from Prime. My preorders almost always show up day and date.

I use Prime.  Sometimes I have noticed that I use Prime for a purchase - but it is fulfilled by another vendor - it may not get here in the advertised 2 days.

I live in Pennsylvania, and Amazon just recently started adding PA sales tax.  Even with that, it is a good deal for the most part.  I do have pangs of guilt about not dealing locally.  :(

I've had good luck with Prime, I use it for my business all the time and only a couple of times has it been delivered a little late.

I have been and always will be, your friend.

I know...I have a real problem, and have to start catching these packages before my wife or she will give me a hard time! ;)

I have Prime and have had a couple of hiccups, but 98% of the time it works perfectly.  Still is very worth it to me.

I'm with Rico. A couple shipments a year get delayed, but it's crazy how much stuff we order. Groceries on auto-ship every month, must-have books, cheap electronics accessories, etc. Not to mention all the cool streaming video.

Well, I have not had as good of luck with them. I just checked all my orders since the $10.00 credit was supposed to have been given and I don't see it anywhere. It was supposed to be automatic on my next Amazon purchase as long as it came from Amazon. So, now I have to contact them again to find out why it was never posted.

And as far as the streaming videos I find very little I would even watch and Netflix stream quality and offers are better. Also their music service can come nowhere near Spotify. It's poorly laid out on both the video and audio sites and because of that I rarely ever go there to watch something or listen to music.

A few times I have had issues with the streaming videos - where I would not get sound (during peak times).  If I have paid for one of the extra movies (not prime) Amazon has always refunded the $'s without issue.  Netflix would not have the same issues with sound  at the same time.

No cable here. So, for the very few shows we like to keep up with that aren't on Hulu, (BBT, ...) we buy yhem and stream them from amazon. No issues beyond the occasional wireless router dropout...

I don't know how Amazon found out that I never got my credit but I just got an email from them saying they understood a colleague had issued me a credit that never issued and they issued me a $10.00 credit. How weird since the only place I have discussed the problem was here. Are they trolling the web for negative comments?

Hmm, we are playing with apps at my office that troll through various social sites for comments on the company.  But they are limited to the big sites.  Maybe Rico is up on the radar screen now with the big boys?  :)

The answer is not nearly as much a conspiracy.  I know for a fact Amazon has a system in place to make sure things get taken care of - they track things.  I did have an order delayed once awhile back and they followed up with me on it to make sure I got it and also gave me a credit for the delay.  But again, that was a rare case and almost everything I get arrives in the two day time span if it's "Prime eligible."
