DST Expands BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Toy License

Diamond Select Toys & Collectibles reveals in a recent press release an expansion on their licensing agreement with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group. The new deal, in addition to 2" Minimates, resin statues and busts, allows DST to manufacture action figures and ships based on the SCI FI Channel hit original series, Battlestar Galactica.

With sculpts well underway, DST plans to release the first action figure assortment this summer. The debut series will feature several key characters from the series, including the seductive Six.

Cool news.  More BSG stuff is always good.

Oh man I thought I would be able to finally scale down my action figure buying days.. but with Harry Potter, Star Trek and now BSG.. I'm going to have to get a second job. :) Awesome news.. thanks for sharing.

Concept pics of Apollo and Six figures (and tons of BSG-R Minimates!): http://www.action-figure.com/events/main.php?g2_itemId=57021

Thats a sexy looking Six Minimate. The Minimates have me interested, as I am also collecting Kubricks, so they are similar.  BSG has me really interested, hopefully they will not be to hard to get. I find a lot of the Trek stuff to be hard to find, as they are not carried in regular retail in Canada, and not a lot of speciality shops carry them as well. So I am hoping the BSG does not have the same fate.

Here are some pictures of the upcoming BSG figures.. there are six of them for the first series. Apollo, Six, Caprica Six, Chief Tyrol, Hot Dog and Anders.

Nice looking Sculpts, but looks like not much articulation to them. The legs look like they are molded to one postions. Hopefully they stand easily enough on their own.
