Guy is going up right now to the edge of space and going to jump out back down to Earth!

Red Bull Stratos is a mission to the edge of space that will try to surpass human limits that have existed for more than 50 years. Supported by a team of experts, Felix Baumgartner will undertake a stratospheric balloon flight to more than 120,000 feet / 36,576 meters and make a record-breaking freefall jump in the attempt to become the first man to break the speed of sound in freefall (an estimated 690 miles / 1,110 kilometers per hour), while delivering valuable data for medical and scientific advancement.

Sounds like there is a problem with the heater for his helmet face plate they are trying to work around. Just passed 110,000 feet!

Well, even with that he kind has to jump back down anyway right?  I mean there is no backup plan.

I was at church this morning and missed the dive.  Can't find a video of it, seems to have been pulled from YouTube.  Any suggestions?  i really want to see it!

I have been and always will be, your friend.

Along the same lines but not quite as successful... a few years ago over South Korea a U2 pilot punched out at 60k ft. He strained his back when ejecting and could only lay in the grassy meridian off a freeway where he landed in his space suit until a motorist stopped and gave him a cell phone to use. He had to tell the base that he was no longer in his airplane and in fact was on the ground needing a ride home, lol!  :flying
