Question about checking availability of specific media

I remember there was some discussion here about a website or service that could search and aggregate different streaming services and TV schedules to find specific content.  Like you would search for a title and it would return where that title was available online or when it was airing on TV.  Was this wishful thinking or is there something out there that performs this function?

I use http://instantwatcher.com for Netflix, easier to browse than Netflix itself.
