Carrier IQ - privacy?

Listening to the TWIT podcast this morning and they talked about this whole Carrier IQ subject.  Basically for some smart phone users this seems to run in the background collecting info on you, texts you send, keystrokes, etc.  It seems there might be a way to remove it too.  Read on...

Yeah, Apple has already begun removing it in iOS5 and will be completely removed in further updates. 

Its a big invasion of privacy and no doubt there will be hell to pay for it...

Really? It might be, but at the moment nobody seems able to say what it's actually reporting or whether anyone's actually looking at the data.

It comes across as a bit too much hype and over-reaction to me.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.
