Man, I hope this update helps with the battery life. Since iOS5, my iPhone4 battery life has really been horrible. I had to charge it no less than once every day. Even without doing much. In fact, I'd have 100% going to bed, then in the morning, it's down to 80% or so...DOING NOTHING! So, lets hope! :)

I haven't done the update yet but my battery levels are much better recently.

Man I updated to 5.0.1 on my iPad and it forced me into recovery mode, and none of the usual methods to getting out of it worked.  I had to restore the device to factory settings, reinstall, and restore from backup.  So pissed I lost all my videos, books, and music.

That sucks. I have heard of a small minority having this issue when they updated OTA.

Dd you have a recent backup on the computer to restore from?

Yes apps were backed up the night before, I generally do a manual back up right before I go to bed every night, so all my apps and app data was ok. Just annoying to have to reload everything else since I don't automatically sync with my computer.  And there was quite a lot of movies and books I had moved onto portable storage off my main computer but still hadn't watched or read yet on my iPad. What a pain!

An update to the iOS app store for iPad should make browsing easier.

It's auto-applied, you only need to open the store and there you go :)

Hey, are people using more of their data plan up now that you can store more via iCloud?  If you store say music there, doesn't it add to your monthly total each time you access the song?  Also, how do streaming services like Spotify and Pandora impact your data limits per month?  That 2GB, or even 6 GB isn't looking like very much these days.

KingIsaacLinksr

I've noticed a spike in usage here lately, but I'm still well within 2GBs, though I avoid streaming anything over 3G.  Of course, 2GBs is not nearly enough so yeah, they really need to kick it up a notch, especially when 4G becomes available because we will all go over 2GBs with 4G around.

Geeze, I know. I use the Wi-Fi at work mostly, but Joyce and I both have AT&T Mi-Fi's with 5 gig per month each.

Rico

Hey - is there an App to keep track of your data usage each month?

The official AT&T one does for iPhone.  Umm...I'm guessing Verizon should have one by now and so should Sprint, but you would have to look that up.  Otherwise, under settings -> usage it says what you've consumed though its a bit wonky.
