Yep. We announced it on our show on the 14th of Sept and I sent out a newsletter to let our subscribers know we had to change companies.  The company that use to host our web site and feed went out of business. They were called "SpireFly" and they were a friend of a friend of a friend. We had about a month to find another company to host our site (AN Hosting) and someone to host our feed (Libsyn). Towards the end, we surpassed our bandwidth by three times the allotted amount at our old hosting company...so we decided to put the feed up at a place that specialized in hosting video and audio podcasts. They also allowed us a few other very nice options. We've been working on it with Jeff for about a month now.

The last time we were just changing to a new server at the old company. This time it was something else entirely. We're burning our feed address through Feedburner so we don't have to worry about all this "change of address" crap the next time. :)

Can I ask why you don't just put a feed .xml file on your normal website/host?  Don't mean to clutter the thread up with this stuff, but just curious.  For example, I've changed hosts a couple times with Treks in Sci-Fi, but the feed file and location have stayed constant.

Because Libsyn offers a browser upload system for sending new episodes to the feed. Part of our issue with being consistent was that it fell on one person to put the show up every month. Now anyone in our staff can do it, and do so easily. They also offer options for smart phone apps we can sell for extra money. That and we are covered if for some reason we are suddenly inundated by people streaming/downloading our show. Companies who say they offer unlimited bandwidth are not being completely honest. There is a cut off point and we don't want to ever find it...ever again. Burned once, won't be burned again. :)

Ok, I think I understand.  So, your actual show podcasts AND feed you are putting on Libsyn due to your concerns about bandwidth.  Gotcha!

- Just as an aside for future reference, I have about 350 podcasts hosted with Dreamhost, roughly 10,000 downloads per show on average and they have never said a peep to me about bandwidth issues.  Plus I host the forum and all my other junk there too.  :)

Jen & Anomaly ladies...

Loving the recent interview shows.  Just listened to your interview with Mur (who I have followed for a long time) and really enjoyed it.  Right now I'm listening to the interview with Jessica Mills.  Very enjoyable definitely makes me want to watch her web series, "Awkward Embraces."  Thanks much for this great content!

Is that Mighty Mur that got interviewed?  Not sure how I missed that one.  Go Eagle Go!  :)

I have really enjoyed the Latest Podcasts as well Jen and Angela.

Also I have to give Jen a big shoutout on the Anomaly Website. I helped setup the site, and Jen took over and really made it shine. She has populated it with a lot of great content, and great graphics and finished off very nice. So if anyone has not been to it in awhile, should drop by and take a look, as it looks fantastic.

Jen

Wow, thanks guys! I didn't know you were all listening. :) Thank you for posting feedback!  I'm very excited that we're able to do all these interviews. I hope you keep listening, we have a BUNCH more coming down the pike in addition to our regular reports and reviews.

I just want to say that Sue (@spaltor) has been a GREAT help. She's like the vice president of Anomaly, LOL. That chick is ON FIRE. :D  She's much more mobile, which allows her to fly to different conventions and represent us. Without her, I think we probably would still be doing the same old thing. Thanks for everything Sue.

We're very lucky to have ALL the ladies of Anomaly helping us. Kasey, Sarah and Anne  (KC_GeekChic, starfighter and Hearthsinger respectively, on the Anomaly boards), have also helped us so much. They not only write for the Anomaly blog, which is equally entertaining, they also help post on the forum and add content to our news feed on the web site.

Angela and I have always wanted to do this, but haven't had the time...too many things to do, not ENOUGH cooks in the kitchen. Now it seems that things are clearing up: Angela's cancer free, my little guy is sleeping through the night and we have a brand new outlook on Anomaly. I think we'll keep improving and bringing cool content for years to come.

Angela and I go to the Texas Renaissance Festival every year. We usually attend two weekends in a row (it runs from Oct-Nov). We were just talking about attending a steampunk convention in San Antonio in the spring. We're also talking about DragonCon next year. So if anyone lives in Texas or if there are any tourists reading this who want to meet at any of these places, shoot us an email. :)

Thanks for the complement on the web site, Jeff. I haven't forgotten about sending you a shirt. :) It's the least we can do for all that you've done for us.  Thanks again for all your hard work.

I'm still going through them but great interviews so far! It's great that you all managed to grab these wonderful ladies into talking to you. I'll definately check out some of their work.

Oh and Jen has worked her magic on the developers of Instacast and we now have artwork in the Anomaly feed! Yay! :)

Awwww, you're so sweet!  Not everyone invites - or even accepts - others into their sandbox.  You and Angela created Anomaly as we (or at least, I) grabbed hold.  We connected with what you were doing - so Thank YOU.

As far as being mobile.. I think you mean "insane".  Jen comes up with idea, I get excited about them, and then do that instead of work.  That's pretty much how it goes, right, Jen?  Yes, I'm currently attending my third con in 2 months, and trying to schedule as many interviews as possible.  It's makes me crazy busy, but the good kind busy.

As far as cons, you should do both Steamcon and DragonCon.  But if you have to choose, come to Atlanta!  I'll be there!
