QuoteWhen I was looking for podcasts to listen to I was immediately drawn in by the cartoon Spock picture for the podcast. I knew then that it had to be a great podcast!  :vulcan

I was thinking the same thing when I was looking for a Star Trek/SciFi podcast to listen to.

I think poor old Spock could do with an upgrade by now. He should be holding an iPad! ;)

Rico

Yeah, I always liked that logo but maybe it is time for an upgrade to it.  I'll have to speak to my buddy Len over at "Jawbone" sometime.

Oh yeah, Jeff, I love your selection of music under your comment. I love the soundtrack from the original "Tron". Wendy/Walter Carlos has been one of my musical heroes since I was a teenager.

Thanks Phil, I sort of chose that music for a few reasons: I always liked it, I had it close at hand, since I recently used it on the Tron podcast, and to signify the joint podcast I got to do with Rico.

That's cool. Very thoughtful.

I love the rhythmic interplay of the "Tron" music. Lots of going in and out of time signatures. My favorite Carlos piece that does that is "Geodesic Dance".

Listening to everyone's comments of appreciation was very touching.

Rico, you must be feeling pretty good. That's just so awesome that you are loved by really wonderful people.  :D

The stories are real eye-openers. As we've listened to Rico share his life with us, it's nice to hear listener/members share back.

I'm sure there are more stories that will blow our socks off one day. :)

I really enjoyed this podcast and everyone did a great job but I have to say I really liked Vartok's comment. Very well done.

Finally got to listen.  Kudos Darmok, that was a great episode.  If I wasn't so busy, I would have sent something in.  :)  Until next time!

Thanks!

You've got plenty of time to submit something for the 6th anniversary show. Dig deep! :-)

I've been catching up on TreksInSciFi, this podcast blew me away.  Good job Darmok and everyone else involved!

Many people only see this much love at a funeral or something when it's a little too late... it is great to hear how much Rico and the community here have enriched each other's lives so much.

I'll add my belated thanks too for all the entertainment.  Treks in Sci-Fi was a contributing inspiration for me to blog and do an audio cast.

There is a really positive tribe here, an impressive achievement as communities are hard to build.  Through sheer hard work, persistence and everyone being so respectful to each other Rico and everyone has created something really special.

Excellent thought. We all too often take the people in our lives for granted and don't express enough appreciation. After 911, Carlos Mencia did an excellent comedy routine that kind of touched upon that, but in the context of appreciating life (he ended the show by simply walking off the stage, his last words, being "Sometimes..."). I think we can apply that to people.
