GRRM's 2nd book

Ditto, but I'm listening to the audio version.
Do you recommend the audio version?  I have been thinking of getting that for the commute.

That's exactly when I'm listening to it. It's narrated by Roy Dotrice, he's amazing. He gives the characters each their own distinct voice and really draws you in. Now, he's an older British man, so some of his voices (especially Tyrion's) aren't quite the same as the representations on the show. If you can get past that I can't think of a better way to consume the series.

I'm a bit worried about book 4, they change the narrator and a lot of people on audible complain about it.

Who is the new narrator I wonder?  That can make or break an audiobook for me.  I was listening to the Series Of Unfortunate Events books - and they change back and forth from Tim Curry to Lemony Snickett himself.  TC is wonderful, but LS doesn't have a good voice for that sort of work.
Rob INglis is one of my favorite readers - he does the LOTR and Hobbit unabridged books.  he is tough to beat.

Now reading (rather re-reading) q squared. To this day it is my favorite book. ;D

Reading the latest James Bond book Carte Blanche   :bond (I've read them all) and really enjoying it. I have to say that this book, written by an American, is far more thrilling and exciting than the last one written by a British author. Brits write the very best mysteries in my opinion, but I think in general Americans write far better thrillers. That's just my personal observation and reading experience speaking. If anyone knows of any really good British thrillers I would be willing to give it a try.

Ever since the premier of Game Of Thrones on HBO, all of my books have taken a back-seat to A Song Of Ice And Fire. I'm just about done with the 3rd book in the series: A Storm Of Swords.

Man; sooo good! :)

I'm just counting down until July 12th and A Dance With Dragons

I'm about to start A Feast For Crows, which should tide me over until A Dance With Dragons comes out. :)

...But then, I'll be all out of Game Of Thrones books.  :(

My favorite Star Trek book.  I love all of Peter David's Trek fiction but this is the best.

Id have to say my favorite Peter David is Imzaldi. Great book!
Just read the following graphic novels
Green Lantern: "Legacy - The Last Will and Testament of Hal Jordan" not to bad. 7 out of 10
Superman/Batman - "Absolute Power" this was a time travel/alternate universe story Enjoyed this one. 8 out of 10
Wonder Woman - "Odyssey" this started the new direction for WW with J. Michael Straczynski & Phil Lester writing, I'll admit I didn't get into the story but the art in it was fantastic! I hope I like the next one better. I give this one a 7 out of 10 mainly because the art was so good.

Peter David did write some of the very best Trek books ever written and few have ever reached his height in Trek story telling. Imzadi and Q-Squared are fabulous! Must re-read them soon.

I've started Game of Thrones and boy is it good.  I have to say I can't believe I've missed out on this for so long. Those of you that enjoyed the show but haven't read the novels will most likely really savor the experience.  I've just gotten to the point where Jon befriends Sam at the Wall and it is so well done, i almost teared up reading it.  The characters are so rich and knowing the bones of the story from watching the show adds to and enriches the experience.

Well worth it Turtlesrock. He wrote a 2nd Imzaldi but it wasn't as good as the 1st one. Another great peter David is Vedetta. Very early TNG novel with Guinan, Data and a Borg on the cover. Also very cool!!

Peter David is hands down one of THE BEST modern Star Trek writers.  And as much as I love what he wrote for the TNG book series, his Star Trek: New Frontier is even better.  The perfect balance of adventure, character moments, and genuine humor.  Really good stuff.
