New podcast is up covering the film "Blade Runner" and some other topics.  Had a lot of fun revisiting this cool movie and chatting about it.  Enjoy the show!

Oh, here's a quick pic of my prop replica of the gun Rick Deckard uses in the film.

Dangelus

Wow don't think that would be legal to own over here, looks too real!

The plastic handle and double trigger makes it pretty "prop like."  But of course, since we can buy guns over here (with a license of course), it's not a big deal.  I got this a few years back.  Nice little item.

Yes it's very nice.

Btw with the correct license certain individuals can own guns in the UK, but ironically "toy" guns are banned if they look realistic, unless they are old style "cowboy" pistols or muskets! Lol

Rico

There are a few similar "laws" over here on toys and stuff like that.  But, this isn't a toy, it's a collectible prop replica.  ;)

P.S. Plus, it never leaves the Rico-Cave.

One of my top favorite sci-fi weapons of all time. And it's based off of a combination of two real world firearms, a Steyr-Mannlicher Model SL rifle and a Charter Arms Bulldog revolver. Which replica is that, Rico, a resin one or the metal one from Japan?

Rico

It's metal and resin both.  I think it was made in Japan.  Someone on the RPF was ordering a group of them a few years ago and I got one.

Yep, I remember that and didn't do it and regret it now. That's a great replica.

Hi Rico, just three thoughts after watching the excellent director's cut today.

1-Ridley Scott's commercial for the '84 debute of macintosh looks like he revisited the Blade Runner set for another dose of that dystopian future.

2-The 5th Element would make for an interesting double feature - Same retro/ future design but more upbeat.

3-Lens flare!

Awesome film, great replica to. So not legal over here though, like Dangerlus said, you cannot even get a Samuri sword here now. There goes me getting a Batleth.
But as for the film it is one of my favourites,i have the box set with all the versions in it. I so meant to send in a comment for this episode, but i never seemed to catch a break this week.
That said thanks for doing an episode on one of favourite Films. It was awesome.

Great episode Rico, you brought back a lot of the memories of the film.  I enjoyed it so much.  I sure enjoyed Bryan's comments too.  Great clips and commentary.  Thanks for an awesome show.

I really enjoyed Will's comments too on Super 8.  I want to see it!

Oh, and Kenny-  WOW!  You made tears come to my eyes and I didn't even get to see the concert!  SO COOL!  Thanks for the BRILLIANT report.  Must have been something!  That is great that you got to experience that.

Great podcast and comments!

I must confess Blade Runner confused the heck out of me when I watched it. I'll have to revisit the movie and see if it makes more sense to me now. Lol
