Might send in comments still that you can play for the episode after the next..  I hope to send in a video for your next cast.. got Guild tomorrow and wednesday then work thursday and friday then live joint podcast on Saturday and of course I'm free on Sunday but that will be do late.. so I'll try and get it done before hand. I don't remember this episode. I must have missed it when it aired way back when. So I'm debating on listening to it or watching it 1st.

Well, it's up in the streaming player here in the Fun Stuff area if you want to watch it first.

Enjoyed this episode a lot. Seemed to me like you were in a bit of a snarky mood Rico, your running commentary was a little more sarcastic then usual. I chuckled a few times :)

Yeah, that's true.  I'm not even quite sure why.  I think I just felt like having a bit of fun with the episode.  Plus part of it was, come on, a few Borg kids?!  These folks have handled a lot more Borg than that before.  Anyway, still a fun episode to cover.

Listened late this week - too many holidays going around :D

From memory, they always kept a full row of Borg alcoves (charging points) in the cargo bay, not just a single one for Seven so fitting the kids in wasn't too much of a stretch. I'd never noticed that the baby disappeared at the end of the episode before.

With regard to our TV, the BBC is completely Ad free (both during and between programmes) but the other channels are all Ad funded, the same as the US (as far as I know). I seem to remember discussing this with Kenny before but I guess that means that shows like Doctor Who aren't written with act breaks and things in place for the convenience of advertising networks.

(Of course, if all the networks are Ad funded, why do I have to pay for my satellite channels? ;))

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

As I understand it, originally the advantage of "cable" (when having cable was a big deal) was that it was ad free. Commercials were only on over the air "free" tv.

At some point along the way that changed :)

Though channels like HBO only do "internal" advertising between shows (i.e. ads for their own content).

Rico

As a side note on the TV breaks on BBC comment, I couldn't take watching "Doctor Who" the other night with the ad breaks.  So, even though I have BBC America, I found "other means" to watch the show.  ;)

Gtreat episode i like voyager it was back to more original Trek seeking out the unknown. This story also opened up a lot of a range in 7 of 9 due to her attachment to the children.
