Hi all,  I was wandering if any of you like using two different web browsers.   I currently use IE8 and googgle chorome.  I use IE most of the time but on sometimes I will use my alternete goggle chrome.  I have also used apple safari also.  do any of you like to use more than one or just one?
I am going with the best information that I have.

I use chrome to browse at work for reasons that no longer matter and Firefox 4 at home. IE is usually popped open and closed for development so I just use that for sites I'm working on generally.

If you're using IE I suggest upgrading to IE9.

I use Firefox 4 primarily with Chrome off to the side.  Internet Explorer took too long to update their browser and Safari is ok but I use neither.

So yeah, I use two at the same time, but usually firefox.

Rico

I've gotten very used to Chrome and have been using it as my main browser for about a month now.  FF4 is pretty good too.  Could never go back to any version of IE.

ElfManDan

I use Firefox. I'm pretty happy with any browser that works. That's all I need. Firefox I've found to work the best so that's what I've stuck with.

sheldor

I use IE and Firefox - no problems with either of them

turtlesrock

i use safari at home and at school IE and firefox.
i just learned that the firefox logo is a fox, not an orange glob.

I wanted to upgrade to IE9 but I was told on the MS website that I had to have windows 7.  I am still using windows XP.

Hi Rico, I have been using goggle chrome for just a couple of months.  I do like using it when I log on to treks site and forum.  I may also use it when I log on to geekplay TV.  but I have not tryed it there yet. I used to use the apple safari browser there also.

I use Chromium on Ubuntu and Safari on Mac OS X.

I run a Windows 7 VM in Virtualbox on Ubuntu and I upgraded to IE9. It's pretty Chrome like, a big improvement.

Yeah, IE9 is for Vista and 7 only, probably Microsoft trying to force another reason for you to upgrade.  Firefox 4 and Chrome still work obviously.

How is IE9 trying to force you to do anything? That's like saying Warcraft is forcing you to use a computer. It's the operating system that the product works on. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want to use the latest and greatest of most things, you usually have to upgrade.

That being said, XP has been supported for YEARS. It only makes sense that support will stop so that those of us that bought the latest systems can get new stuff that isn't bogged down by compromises to allow it to work with older operating systems.

I'm just saying it could be an attempt to force the upgrade.  As a software company, Microsoft is probably very unhappy that the majority of their users are still using XP, which is 10 years old.

But how is it forcing the upgrade? You aren't required to get IE9.

Rico

Not to spin off topic too much, but you might be surprised at how much Win 7 is catching on.
