Uh, that's interesting. I was thinking of building this, although I am still not a huge fan of the design and supposed scaling.

"Many people have been inquiring about the new movie Enterprise model kit. We have the following statement.
Round 2 is not proceeding with development on the U.S.S. Enterprise model kit, as based on the 2009 film, Star Trek. We will continue to focus on classic Star Trek by reissuing nostalgic favorites and enhanced re-releases as well as some all-new tooling of favorite Trek subjects.
Live long and prosper,
The Round 2 Model Kit Team"

That is odd, wondering if maybe the rights to release the new movie Enterprise is to costly. Does Polar Lights have the rights to ships from the new movies, or is that split like the other Trek properties? From the press release, sounds like they just reissuing older models, so maybe as well, it is to costly to create a new model, and feel that the sales will not cover the expense of producing a new model.

We still haven't seen that Qmx Studio Scale 2009 Movie Enterprise either.  I wonder if we possibly might get a slightly different version in the next film?

Although i wasn't a big fan of the design, in general people didn't seem to have a huge problem with it, I would be surprised if they redesigned it. I would just like it to be in the proper scale in relation to how it appears in the film. I think Jeff is correct, this likely has to do with $ and perhaps they don't see a big market for this kit. That QMX model at the price they were discussing I think is a major reach for them. I don't see them selling those at that price point.

Rico

What price point Bryan?  I didn't think a price was ever announced.

As far as a redesign, I don't think anything major will change for the ship.  Chances are the next film will only take place a couple years past the last movie - if even that far.  And since the new Enterprise was just built, it wouldn't make sense to change it much.

The talk was around $2500, as I recall. I believe the ship could be special ordered with a series of options so each was going to be individually made and the edition size was 500.

Ah, just talk then.  Still hope they (or someone else) does one eventually.

I'm aware of the RPF chit-chat.  I was looking for something official from Qmx.
