For those of you who have not heard - Carol and I are now betrothed. Now comers - setting the date, building the guest list, finding a church, photographer, caterer, reception hall....getting tired just thinking about it.

Happy engagement! Great video of Gene and Judy BTW! It's a true classic. I wish you both the best. My advice is to let her make most of the decisions. She has been planning her wedding most of her life. You just get involved when she wants you to and do exactly what she wants you to and all will be well.

Compromise: Meeting somewhere in the middle where neither party is 100% happy.

Marital compromise: Discuss what you want to do and then do what she want so that she is not 100% upset.

If you can't get them to see your idea as partly their idea, then more than likely, it's best to run with there idea.
