I'm debating whether I should take a mental health day and go see the movie.

Just got back from the Midnight Showing. It is a stunning movie Visually. The story seemed good, but I think I will need to see it again. I think I might have been tired so might have missed some stuff, as some of the slower scenes I found myself drifting a bit. The Recognizers looked great, the world was a bit different then I was expecting. The movie felt a little darker as well from the first to me, not as much of the lighthearted  moments like in the first, as Jeff Bridges character much more serious.

Felt weird going to the midnight show. I am 42, and the crowd was mostly 20 somethings, and I felt like a fossil in having seen the original in the theatre before most of the crowd there was even born. I saw it in 3D IMAX, and it looked good, but still find myself getting a bit distracted by the 3D, and not really liking the glasses. If It is in 2D might go see it on that for my next viewing.

I'm going to see it in 3D, not IMAX, on Monday afternoon with a freind. :)

I kind of hate IMAX. I'm really picky about where I sit in a theater. It has to be stadium seating near the center of the row, on a row where the center of the screen is near eye level.

This way you get the entire sound experience and the entire film is within your direct line of sight. There is no need to turn or move your head to follow the action. Yet, you're not too far back to diminish any of the visual effects.

IMAX is pretty, but unnecessary head movement can make you miss something.

I saw it in IMAX 3D. We sat in the Top corner. We were a bit concerned, but to be honest, it looked good. Did not have to turn my head at all, and even at the side, felt was sitting centre. But next time will not be IMAX 3D. Our IMAX theatre is stadium seating. From where I sat, I cant complain about the viewing angle, it was good

Hope I can find it in non 3-D.  Despise the glasses, among other things related to 3-D.

I'm with you on the glasses.  IMAX gets to be a little busy for me.  Maybe I just getting old?

First off I am a HUGE Disney fan so I was looking forward to this movie....BUT.....It's a huge let down for me. The visuals are STUNNING but the plot in between the action is bad.
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

I'm going in with VERY low expectations in regards to story, to be honest, I just want to see how cool it looks in 3D.

Then that's what you will get. You will be happy then.

That's what I figured! Let's face it, the first TRON story was terrible and the movie itself was visually amazing but boring as the day is long in between the lightcycles and battle tanks. This looked to deliver the same experience.

Totally agree.
