Looking at iTunes and Yahoo! Messenger's website, I can't tell if the video works between the computer and iPhone.  The site is vague on it and I could test it out by setting up two yahoo accounts if anyone is really that curious.  As no other phones feature Video chat right now (unless I forgot a Droid model, my apologies) its not like I can just call up a Droid user to test it.  I kinda don't get the excuse Skype is handing out unless Skype cannot make video calls between anything Non-Mac related.  That would be the only explanation, but since they don't give a very clear reason, I can't say what's up.

They say its open platform yet they won't use it, which confuses me...

If it is only open to connecting with other apple products, it sort of defeats the Skype business model. Droid has a couple of phones that can video chat without WiFi and some that do it with WiFi.

I also looked into the y! and it doesn't say that the app supports video chat. Have you used that feature?

Not personally (as I have no Y! accounts right now) but according to the reviews on iTunes they have video chat and some wonder why Skype doesn't.  And the App says in its description that it comes with Video chat so I'm assuming the website is out of date.....for whatever reason.

As for Skype, yeah, I hear that so its a big ? mark as its unclear what the restrictions are or aren't in the case of FaceTime.

On a side note, not putting video chat in has given Skype a lot of negative reviews on the App store, mostly because Yahoo! has it so this also confirms that Y! app has video chat.  *shrugs*
