I don't know how this will go over; I'm not sure if many other forum members are as big a Ship Geek as I am! Figured I'd give it a go, though. Here's the deal- Simply name the Class of the starship pictured in the post. First person to get it right wins the honor of posting the next image. Please try to limit the ships to vessels from the Trek Universe (there are literally hundreds of canon craft to choose from).
I'll start it off easy. If you can't guess this, TURN IN YOUR GEEK CARD NOW!!! ;)

Constitution Class.
OK, here's a tough one, it's somewhat non-cannon but any good Trek ship fan will know it. I want the type and class (Consitution Class, Heavy Cruiser would be the answer for the Enterprise). :)
You aren't kidding; that is a tough one. Federation Class, Dreadnought ?
Yep! :) Well done.
:troopersmile
cool! How about this one? Actually appeared briefly in one of the more noteworthy TNG episodes-(http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t91/wraith1702/class2.jpg)
You're cheating! :D This is a Cheyenne class. The crazy horse that was on TNG was Excelsior class.
Cheyenne Class. Opps! X just beat me. :)

Cheyenne class is correct!
There was wreckage of a Cheyenne class starship at Wolf 359 in Best Of Both Worlds- the USS Ahwahnee. :)
I think I could name any of the more than two nacelle craft without much thought. You wanna pick another? I'm still not great with the whole photo posting.
OK, I'll go as I was second. :)
Oberth Class USS Grissom
Here's one of my faves.
Nova Class. :) A very cool little ship. :)
I always liked non-traditional designs -
(http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t91/wraith1702/class6.jpg)
I think that is the steamrunner class...
I'm a little rusty, its been awhile. :-[
Yep; Steamrunner class. :)
Your turn, Omra.
The ship in the forgound is the one in question-
I know it's the Kelvin, but I don't think the Class name has been named yet...? Kelvin Class?
Oh this is a greath thread Eric. i know very little about this subject and am loving it. More pics and info guys keep em coming i'm impressed.
Yeah, I'm not aware that either of the new movie ships have been given class designations. I wouldn't assume the Enterprise is going to be called a Constitution Class at all. From a design standpoint, I bet we see lot's of different configurations with no two ships being alike in the new universe.
After searching for a name for the Kelvin's class, all I can come up with is "The Kelvin is of a so far unseen ship class". :ohwell Most of the ship-geek sites are referring to it as a "Kelvin-Type" ship for the time being.
I'm going to go ahead and put up another image-
(http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t91/wraith1702/class7.jpg)
Miranda. Always loved that one. :)
Here's one I had to look up, this would have stumped me.

Not only is it a Miranda class, it's Reliant, NCC-1864.
That's one of my favorite classes of ship for some reason. I like the side profile in the DS9 tech manual better though ... Oh yeah .. Saber Class
I love this ship's look even more though
(http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/memoryalpha/en/images/d/de/USS_Relativity.jpg)
I guess since we won't know the class-name until Friday, I should choose another ship... :blush
Wells Class- The Relativity!
QuoteI guess since we won't know the class-name until Friday, I should choose another ship... :blush
Go ahead Omra- Pick us a good one! :)
A little different...

Yeah, I was in a hurry. :blush

Okay ... try this one

romulan Valdor Class :)

romulan Valdor Class :)
I'll give it to ya. We're accepting Norexian Class, Mogai Class, and Valdor type (the name of the ship in nemesis, but no class given on screen)
It was a new type of warbird, the name of the ship was 'Valdore'.
From Nemisis of course.
The name of the ship is Valdore; it was the first of the new Valdore Strike cruisers, named after the prototype. Much like the Constitution class was named after the Constitution, and the Excelsior class after the Excelsior. I'm stumped... What part of the Class name am I missing?

The wonderful world of trek had it listed as a Valdore type, but the Titan books have it as a Mogai Class, and the Trek collectible game lists it as a Norexan class. Consider it my fault for picking a ship who's class wasn't ever named on screen.

It's all cool, man; I didn't remember the name given in the books, and the other names are new to me. That's one of the things I like about the site; I learn something new each time I visit. :)
... Still waiting for a taker on this pre-TOS starship.
Is it Dauntless?
No, but you're in the right area of the alphabet...
Had to think Daedalus Class. It was on the tip of my tongue, but I misspelled the hell out of it and Dauntless was another class that sounded familiar.
I second that,...Daedalaus. Or Daedalus,...however it is spelled?
Okay, here is one:
Hah, I got me one too!
Dadelus!
OK going Old School! And as a bonus, name the original 7 Constitution Class starships!
I think JustX's is a Griffon class...
Nope, not Griffon class

I don't know the class name of that one, Bryan, but I recognize it from the Starfleet Technical Manual.
As for the original Constitution Class starships, I come up with 9. Is 7 a canonical number, or something from Franz Joseph or other supplementary works?
Enterprise
Potemkin, Excalibur, Lexington, Hood (The Ultimate Computer)
Constellation (Doomsday Machine)
Defiant (Tholian Web, In a Mirror Darkly)
Exeter (Omega Glory)
Intrepid (Immunity Syndrome)
No, I think I just miss counted, Dan! Nobody has named the ship I posted above yet.

Don't forget the Constitution, NCC-1700. Though I guess it never showed up in the show, though traditionally the first ship of the class is named after the class.
Good catch, Joe! And that's why the refit Enterprise was re-classified as the Enterprise class, although we never did see another one.
It was the Yorktown originally, right?
Also there was a bit of an uproar in the Starfleet shipbuilding community since apparently in nautical tradition it's bad luck to rename a ship after it's been christened.

I'm gonna guess Ambassador ... don't know why, but that's the name I get when I see that ship
Nebula Class!
Yep, Bryan nailed it! ;)
For those of you who are fans of the book series...
Cool. Luna Class!
This should be a head scratcher... ;)
It's the Aurora ... umm remastered ...
Funny, :D... but what class of ship? And for extra points what TOS episode is it from?
I didn't think they gave it a name but I think it was from this side of paradise. I might have the name wrong, but they are looking for eden in romulan space and find it only to discover the plants are acidic.
Oh, that's right X, is it the Aurora? As I recall, that was originally the Tholian model with two nacelles attached.
Speaking of remastered....
I love the Botany bay

Nice looking Akira, Omra! :)
Here's one that some of the Trek book fans out there might know-
(http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t91/wraith1702/classguess.jpg)
I'm referring to the Federation ship in the foreground.
The USS Sagitarius, Archer Class, from the Vanguard books! A new Vanguard book is out, I need to read that. I like Vanguard more than the Titan series. Something fun and different, I always loved this design.
Isn't that spock's shuttle from IV when he's joining up with the enterprise?

That's a Vulcan Warp Sled, as seen when Spock joins the Refit in The Motion Picture. I don't know what the official class designation is though...
I don't think it has one, they just cal it warp sled or warp shuttle. Your up, Wraith!
I didn't know it had an official class designation. I've always just seen it referred to as a "Vulcan Shuttle".
[You beat me to it, Bryan!]
I don't think the class name has been created for this one yet, so I'm just asking for the ship name-
