I do this on another forums that I partake in and thought it would be a fun game to play here.
So it's fairly simple.. you quote a line from a Scifi or Fantasy film. Folks will guess the movie it's from and the person who gets it right will then post another quote and so on and so on.
I'll start with an easy one.
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
EDIT.. if you know you got it right forsure go ahead and post your quote without waiting for a reply.
Wow. That movie was playing on a marathon the day my daughter was born and we seriously considered naming her Buttercup because of it.
The princess Bride?
You got it.. your turn.
This should be an easy one too. It was a stand out line in a stand out movie.
"Out of the way peck!"
I love that movie.. one of my favotires.. but I won't guess. :)
Ghostbusters?
You should go for it Kenny. I think most people, outside of a handful, wouldn't remember that line.
It's from Willow...
Okay.. here's a cool one.
"My friends, my fellow conscripts, we have scored. I feel so much better."
Really Kenny? You want to go there? LOL. I'm not even going to answer that one. I'll give someone a chance. They deserve
the right of naming
Seems like it's just you and I playing this game Just X.. :( I thought it would be a fun game.. guess not.
I think that we need to give the other time zones and people coming off work a chance. I'm sure that we'll have some takers then.

I would say it could be considered borderline fantasy...also VERY quotable!

Yeah; it's a great film, but I guess Kenny's right. How about this one:
"...To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women. "
First one was Pulp Fiction and the second is maybe 300?
LOL! Conan, the Barbarian.

I love this one:
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

How does it look now?"
"Looks clear."
Can you give us a hint?
"Take that, you mutating son of a B****!"
I was Just watching this movie this morning before I left for work.
A hint? Of course. This movie spawn a sequel, an animated bridging story, and two games. It also featured alum from the a Saturn winning Sci-fi show. It was going to be a trillogy, but the box wasn't there. Here is another line:
"What do I need to do to get eyes like that?"
Chronicles of Riddick
Sorry I mean Pitch Black
Go for it! You got it.
"Take that, you mutating son of a B****!"

"People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome."
Hummm..That's hard. Sounds like a quote from Brave New World, but the last line reminded me of Joss. Serenity? Or Firefly...I think it's Serenity.
You're right Jen. Little River said it at the beginning of the movie.
Awesome, I was so sure it WASN'T Serenity.
Your turn, Jen
Oh I knew from the first few words... :) yes I'm a huge Browncoat. :)
One of my favorite lines ever: "I threw down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountainside."
Oh, thanks for letting me answer Saltor. :D
I know it's LOTR... I think it's Two Towers.
Yes. :) A quote from Galdalf the White.
Someday when you're all growed up and you have 18 million dollars of your own money and name on the contract, you can do whatever comes into that little A.J. idiot mind of yours
I know.. but I want someone else to guess. :)

Movie is Spacecamp
Let's see who's really a geek and can guess this one..
"These are the sands of my life. Accept them and the spider will have no power to harm you. But your own life runs out with the sand."

OK, I was going to do a funny quote from this movie but decided to do a more releveant one.
Actor 1) "If one recieves evil from another, let one not do evil in return. Rather, let him extent love to that enemy, that love might unite them." "I've heard all this before... in the human Taalmaan."
Actor 2) "Of course you have. Truth is Truth."

Yep, good guess. It is from 'Enemy Mine'.
I was originally going to do the quote from where he is trying to teach the kid football-
"These trees will be the New York Giants, they are almost as big and just as fast..."
;D
Alright here's another one-
"The only thing here that is overwhelming is your arrogance,... your delusion!"
"Delusion? Take a look around you Father. You are standing in my delusion."
Oh... I... thought it would be a funny guess. Vartok mentioned it recently on the podcast, and I remembered how much i liked it.
Saw some of the sets on the Bavaria Film Studio tour, but by then I was more interested in the Neverending Story.
Thanks for picking a new movie quote. :)
I'd like it to be Star Wars: The Empire strikes back, Luke and Vader.
Nope. Try again...
Just an FYI.. Game works with you state a quote.. someone guess' if they get it right they then will state the next quote..
Should be Cosmonaut turn next...
But will let this one slide this time. :biggrin

Health Inspector is down on his knees, he pulls out a small disgusting looking object out from under an oven with a pair of tongs. He looks at it quizzically. "Hmmm what do we have here?"
The Maiter'D peers at it and offers an answer in a cheesy french accent, "It is a caper."
The Health Inspector smiles and shakes his head, "No my friend what we have here is a rat turd."
The Maiter'D looks indignant, "No, it is caper."
The Health Inspector looks askance at him, "Are you sure?"
The Maiter'D insists, "IT IS A CAPER!" (Sounding less french each time)
The Health Inspector puts the offensive object in the Maiter'D's face,"Fine, then eat it."
The Maiter'D tries not to gag, "NO!"
The Health Inspector looking triumphant declares with a smile, "Then I am closing you down."

Here's an easy one from a very cool movie when I was a teenager.
"I told you, I blew a fuse when I totaled that electrical tower. I was checking out some daisies."
Flight of the Navigator! (Said in a Pee Wee Herman voice.... :D)
I have one for the group:
"Sweet dreams, Moon-pie"
Looks as though you may have everyone stumped (including myself). I'll make a wild guess. Is it "The Sixth Sense"?
"Sweet dreams, Moon-pie" - was uttered by John Houseman in the original movie 'Roller Ball'. Loved John Houseman!
No one put up a new quote...so I hope it's okay if I jump in. Kenny might know this one. :D
"It is like your name... Sykes. I'm sure it doesn't bother you at all that it sounds like 'ss'ai k'ss,' two words in my language which mean "excrement" and "cranium."
No idea, but I had a good laugh! :)
That's "Alien Nation" isn't it?
Yep.. that's Alien Nation.
No new quote so...This one should be easy:
"Everything you create, you use to destroy."
"Yeah, we call it human nature."
I want to guess Fifth Element?
Damn! Kenny got it. :)
That's the one,
Leeloo: Everything you create, you use to destroy
Korben Dallas: Yeah, we call it human nature
I have a new quote if anyone would like to try. Actually it's two qoutes.
