The selection could be a little better, but overall I love Netflix. And I could definitely see it cutting down on torrenting.

What would REALLY kill torrenting is if Netflix allowed downloading for offline viewing.  The Xfinity app on iOS (for Comcast subscribers) allows you to do this, you can register up to three devices and download up to ten shows and watch offline.  I believe we'll be seeing this functionality in an update for the service soon.

The Nextflix CEO says that they are killing torrenting. I believe it. I've always believed that most people are willing to pay a nominal fee for good content. Things are changing for the better in how we get our entertainment.

Yup, agreed. Torrenters do it as a last resort: torrents are inconvenient and make you feel like a turd. Given the choice, most would prefer the small fee.

If you want to see the movie 'Limitless' it goes off May 16. I'm going to try and catch before its gone.

Yup, I really need HBO to come out with a standalone streaming sub.

Yes I would love that - and could finally cut the cord of that happens (not likely near term I think).

Totally. Seems like a no-brainer. We'd snap that up in a second. As it is we occasionally "borrow" hbogo from family.

Watched Star Trek 3 last night. Love that movie. I don't have the Blu-rays for the TOS movies so I wanted to see this in HD. They have 2, 3, Insurrection, and Nemesis on streaming right now. As far as the movies go. All the Trek series including the animated one are also streaming.

nice! thanks for the head's up. Been a while since I saw Insurrection, might have to take advantage of that.

WillEagle

I really like Insurrection. I am a big Riker and Troi fan so seeing them get back together was awesome.

Hey, everybody. Thought some of you might be interested in knowing that they are playing "Done the Impossible" on Netflix. It is the Documentary about Firefly in how it was cancelled and then brought back. I haven't watched it yet but it looks interesting. Here is the link to IMBD about the show.
