I was driving home from dropping my computer off to be repaired last Friday when I was hit by an elderly lady driver who wasn't watching where she was going and plowed into my car with such force that the impact from her car  pushed me off the road and up onto the side walk. She basically hit me between the crease between the driver door and the front fender with the front left wheel taking most of the damage.

Luckily I was not  seriously hurt and got away with a dislocated shoulder and a few bruised ribs , but my wife's car has over 4300 dollars in damage, it will take them three weeks to repair the  car.

If their is a good thing out of this, we are buying a 2012 cruze on the weekend.

I am still pretty shaken up from the accident and am surprised at the amount of damage to the car when she hit me making a left turn out of mall parking onto the road.. The police deemed the accident to be her fault as I had the right of way and had no stop sign or lights, she ignored the stop sign looked both ways but failed to look ahead of her  as she gunned it out of the exit.

I saw her out of the corner of my eye , but because of the heavy rain could not stop in time to avoid being hit.

Man what a drag! I sure am glad that you were not seriously injured but I bet that shoulder hurts like all get out! Take care of yourself and let your body heal and don't let the insurance company get away with nothing. You deserve to get your car replaced and your medical bills paid for at the very least.

Ouch!  But the main thing is you are ok.  Cars can be replaced and/or fixed.  Good luck with the repairs.

That's rough. I'm glad you're alright though. Things can get pretty crazy on the roads sometimes, actually had a guy cut me off this morning by driving over the sidewalk. I'm just glad he didn't hit me like that, or there'd be two people on the forum with this sort of story. The Cruze look like a pretty nice car though. Is insurance covering a lot of the damages?

Wow!  That's terrible.  I'm glad you are okay.  Take care of yourself.

Wow!  That was lucky that you weren't more seriously injured.  What happened to the elderly driver that hit you?

The women who hit me was 65 +  could barely see over the steering wheel of her mazda 6. The police did not  lay any charges  on her but found her at fault for the accident.

My car is a 2005 cavalier with only 44 000 km on it. It came within 700 dollars of being written off, they have to replace the trim on the front driver and passanger doors, replace the driver door , fender and bumper , replace the control rod,, do a wheel alignment and paint the whole left side of the door.
