Mom had seven heart attacks in the last 5 days

Well it has been the week from hell, my mom went to the hospital a week ago Saturday for what we thought was an anxiety attack, was readmitted on Monday, had chest pain on Wednesday went down to st mikes on Friday for an Angioplasty, they could not do it because she was caughing to much, While being transported back to Etobicoke General, she had a Massive Heart attack in the ambulance and ended up at Trilliam Health Center.

She had two small Heart attacks Saturday Morning had an emergency angioplasty Saturday at noon where they found two small blockages, one they could repair the other was two small to repair or do a heart bypass so she went back to Etobicoke general Friday Night, Monday night had a heart spasm because of the one still blocked artery and ended up in The critical Care Unit, She was given water pills and nitro to remove water off the longs and open the Arteries.

So far no heart pain since Tuesday morning and she slept all night, I am almost afraid to breath. Meanwhile I am taking care of my wife's mother who is 83 with dementia.

I am just crossing my fingers.

So sorry to hear about that.  My Dad had lots of heart issues including several attacks.  It's never easy to deal with especially if you're already helping out with another family member.  Try to do your best and realize that unfortunately much of what happens in life is totally out of our control.

Looks like They are now considering some surgery to help fix this problem with my moms heart, they are doing alot of consultation with other cardiologists to come up with a plan.

Well Yesterday, the surgical option was ruled out as her right common artery is 99% blocked, it is too small to put a stent in and too small to do a bypass..

The only option they have is medication which is not working,, She is now having congestive heart failure and the water pills are removing water off the lungs. she is on a nitro drip, but this is pushing her blood pressure to 88 / 40. If they cant find the right combination of drugs, it is very unlikely that she will live very long.
