FINALLY. Looks pretty good, likely going to be predictable and I don't know if anyone civil rights war film could ever be as good as Glory, but this will be worth a trip to the theater.

THAT LOOKS AWESOME!! Man! That movie is going to be great.

Wow, the production values on it look fantastic. I like WW2 based movies, so will be checking this out.

Bryancd

They do, Jeff, although the CGI...I don't know, it just screams CGI too much..

jedijeff

Yeah, can't disagree with that, as I am sure there were never that many planes in the sky back then, but does have a Band of Brothers/The Pacific feel in that area. But I guess when it is a Lucasfilm movie, that is their signature, to much CGI :)

Bryancd

Great point, Jeff. I think when it comes to WWII plane fights I am used to seeing either real planes, Ba Ba Black Sheep anyone?, or models.

Looks like the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, and likely to be a great movie if not done on the cheap.
Just take Glory and turn it up to 11 because fighter pilots are the bomb, they are the kings of the sky.

And it's a reminder of our nations unity and strength (something we could use right now).

They were the 332ND Fighter Group and the continuing story of Black Americans proving  their honor and valor in the face of adversity once more - in WWII.
During the high casualty rates suffered during missions, these were the only guys to win the trust of the bomber pilots to get them home safely.

Your right about the CG though, look like scenes from the History Channels "Dogfights" series. I'd expect better quality from Lucas Films.

PBS has already done a documentary: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1092549/

This has been a pet project for George Lucas for a very long time...easily since even before the prequels. I'm glad to see it finally got made. I love this era of fighter planes and dog fights so I'll definitely be there to see it next January.

Picked this up at Redbox late last night. Just watched the first few minutes and I got it on blu-ray and it looked amazing! Looking foward to watching the rest of it today.
