...I'm going to continue to play it, mainly because I never leave anything started unfinished...
This I can tell is true, Mr. 65,000 gamerscore.

Yeah I was also thinking a Mass Effect style combat RPG would work as well, I just don't want it to focus on getting gear. There's no armor in Star Trek!

As much as I may or may not agree with this guy, he's damned irritating :)

ChrisMC

Yes, he can be. But I just was amused by the fake good reviews, plus the game producer commenting on how well the game runs for him.

I'm always amused by Bryan's "Damn the Torpedoes" attitude. I salute you, sir.

I'm still going to get it for the PC, I liked ALIENS: Colonial Marines. My bar is set at "Did I have fun?" and the answer was yes for that game.

Well, good luck. I've already said my piece on CM. I refuse to get it. If you try co-op in Star Trek, don't sit there waiting too long for a co-op partner, it sounds like you could be there for hours.

I don't play co-op, I have zero interest in having an experience with other gamers online. You are always such a ray of sunshine, Tim. :)

Hey, I just believe you should get your monies worth. If they're going to phone it in on the game development, then sell it for $10, not $60. A game should never ever lean on its license as a crutch for bad gameplay. The Walking Dead by Telltale showed everyone how to get it done. And then Activision turned around and showed, with their version of the Walking Dead, what you don't do. A cynical cash-in. These companies can do better, they just choose not to. For whatever reason.

At the end of the day, I'm in it for the gameplay, not a "movie like" experience. If I wanted to see a movie, I'd go see a movie.

I'm holding on to my comments for the AWESOME podcast Chris and I are planning for you all in a couple weeks, all about this game as well as some actually really GOOD Trek video games.  Stay tuned!

Looking forward to your podcast with Chris on this and other Trek games.  For me all games have their good and bad points, but if you are entertained for a reasonable amount of time I'd say you got your money's worth then.  We all love "Star Trek" here, so I always figure that kind of tips the scales a little too.

Yep, and everyone's definition of "get your monies worth" will vary wildly, Tim.

this definitely has some good parts, the voice acting from the whole cast of the movie is the top of the list

Heck, I just spent 3 hours playing "Euro Truck Simulator" and had a blast. With gaming it really is to each his own.

ChrisMC

Yeah, the game needs a patch, or update, or whatever. I'm at the end of a mission that took me a while, and a glitch is keeping me from going on. If I have to re-start the mission...I may shelve this bad boy. Games should be fun, not make you want to pull your hair out.

Maybe I'll go rent this at Red Box for $2 since I never went and bought it.

ChrisMC

I rented Colonial Marines and had fun with it, 4 bucks hurts less than 60, and increased my enjoyment by reducing the feeling of getting boned by a game developer.
