A classic TSF podcast for my first one of the year.  A look at this great TOS episode and much more.  I kind of "rant" a little on 3-D too near the start.
Enjoy the show everyone and thanks to the audio contributions for this one!

LOL! That's ok, it's your party, just keep in mind some of us enjoy it. :) And Chris made a good point in that other thread you have the option of paying for it or not in almost all cases, so I don't see the harm. You're going to have a tough 2011 as EVERY major release is being done in 3D. Here's the list so you can start getting angry sooner.  :taz

Great podcast Rico.  Amy, Catherine and I listened on a little trip we went on today.

Here is the song link and the lyrics.

http://www.christrocks.com/parody

Switching minds with Sargon
Parody of "Everybody wants you" by Billy Squire
Sung by Rick Moyer

Readings growing up ahead in the night
Ship is further with a planet that is in  sight
Big strong voice we hear with reverb
Ancient beings Hoping that we have the Nerve

Beam us on down, get to know our cool place
Help us all out before we lose our whole race
Let us build some bots, 'for our minds are all gone
Let us use your bods, switching minds with Sargon

They need the help and Kirk can't say no
What it will do, nobody can really know
So on to sick bay where the transfer is done
They come to life and the trouble it's just begun, yeah

Messin' with her mind ol  nurse Chapel is duped
Henoch sets it up to kill Sargon to boot
Fallin' for Thalassa and the things they will do
Henoch fools them all- Switching minds with Sargon

Switching minds with ancients
Globes for their containment
Sargon really needs  you, leads you, bleeds you

Oh the confusion of keeping the crew
With all the kissing they, passing up their feelings too
They got the body, but their feeling real poor
Their dream of robots is going right out the door
Sargon's dead and Thalassa she tries
To keep her woman's body and on McCoy she relies
Henoch gets injected with the poison and's gone
Spock comes back to life, Switching minds with Sargon

Everybody's Sargon, Everybody's Sargon

I have been and always will be, your friend.

Don't want to clutter up another thread about this topic - so I won't.

P.S.  And for the record, this certainly doesn't make me angry in any way.

Hey, you brought it up in the podcast so it's fair game in this thread! :)

Great show, I didn't know all that about the android bodies being an actor in latex! It's COS play! And super fun song by Rick, I love the original as well. Thanks for posting the lyrics, the vocals a little hard to hear in my car and I know that it's at the top of your range but you hang on tough, my man!

So here are the relevant lyrics in "Geek and Gamer Girls" I am confused about:

"Where Rand al'Thor still reigns supreme"- Who? Reigns where?!
"Questin', in Hyrule"- I assume this is a WOW reference?
"We, love Stan Lee (Excelsior!)"- OK, Stan Lee I kmnow but what's with Capt. Sulu's command reference?
"Vertigo"- From Seth's rap
"Super fine like Peach"- Wasn't Peach a character in Nintendo's Mario Cart game?
"Epic Lootz For the Win, Hyjal's what we're raiding in, Haxxors, Konami Code"- WTF?

Rico

Rand al'Thor is a main character in Robert Jordan's "Wheel of time" book series
Stan Lee for many years signed off in comics with the line "Excelsior"
Vertigo is a line of somewhat more mature comic books from DC comics
Epic loot is an MMO term and Hyjal is in WOW

The only one I don't know off the top of my head is "Questin', in Hyrule."

"Questin'" - As in going on a quest, or several.

Hyrule - The name of the magical kingdom that serves as the setting for many games in the Zelda series.

http://www.zeldawiki.org/Hyrule

And yes, Peach is the name of the Princess from the Super Mario Bros. series, including Mario Kart.

Haxxors: Leetspeak for Hackers
Konami Code: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konami_Code - A "cheat" code present in many Konami video games.

Excelsior - Not a reference to Captain Sulu's ship, but the way that Stan Lee used to sign off his monthly column "Stan's Soapbox".

Sorry, I am not too sure about Vertigo myself.

Hope that helps!

Rick Moyer did the outro segment so he will have to answer that question.

moyer777

I made it on my synth, I used part of the tune I hear at the movies when they are telling you to shut off the cell phones and stuff.  Did you recognize it?  Anyway, all of it was recorded on my computer with my synthesizer.

I think I recognized the opening part, though I have been unable to name that tune.  It has been driving me nuts all day!  :wallbash:
