Had a great time recording with Rick Peete (in studio!) yesterday all about Mr. Spock and those pointy eared Vulcans!  We tried to cover quite a bit so it's about a 2 hr. show.  Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this clip packed, fun podcast.  Special thanks to Rick Moyer for another awesome song!  How does he keep coming up with this stuff?!   :metallica:

This is a great show, we listened in the car to and from church in Olympia today...  almost got through 3/4 of it.  There are several incredible & fun moments.  My wife shook her head many times when I would answer the question or make the same comment at the same time!  hehehe.   :)  I just loved it.  I like how you both interact with each other.  GREAT STUFF.  So geeky.

Here are the lyrics to the new Song "Think Like A Vulcan"  it's an original that I wrote and recorded.
You can download it here:  http://www.christrocks.com/parody

Think like a Vulcan
Written and recorded By Rick Moyer

So up and down, my life is just a whirl
So many emotions espousing from my girl
Maybe baby you're  not for me
Your logic's lacking to the umpteenth degree
I need a girl who can mind meld & swerve
And take out  enemies by pinching on a nerve
I want woman who's immune from all her fears
How about a lady with sexy pointed ears
Her skin can be a greenish tint that's right
And I can introduce her as "she who is my wife"

Chorus:
I need a girl who thinks  like a Vulcan
Who understands the depths of my emotion
I need a girl who thinks like a Vulcan
Live long and prosper do the hand salute,
Live long and prosper do the hand salute

We could dream about our spaceship and a star
And every seven years she'd know about pon far
Not getting messed up by emotions and the gossip
She does mathematics and relies upon her logic
Her eyebrows curve up and to the right
She studies Surak and she doesn't like to fight
And if another tried to take her from me
She invoke the right of Kal ee Fee

We battle it out in a thinning atmosphere
And when it's over our love it would endear
Go home and pet our Sehlat on the deck
And watch Volcanoes with multiple sunsets
Infinite diversity in infinite combinations
The needs of the many outweigh my contemplations
We'd have our peace and our really nice long life
Make a few first contacts, hey that might be nice

Savvik, Tuvock, Spock, T'pol, Surak

Chorus

I have been and always will be, your friend.

just a few comments

If the great Library of Alexandra in Egypt had not been destroyed and assuming technology kept pace for these 2,000 years,
imagine where we would be today.

Were there different sects of Vulcans?
Warriors, Workers, Scientist.

Spock must have been out of his mind making kissy faces with Jill Ireland.
At the time she was married to Charles Bronson.  :o

Rico

I'm not sure about Vulcan sects, but I seem to think they did have them in the past.

- Oh, I have to say I goofed up a little when editing in the clips.  I think I missed one or two when we discussed Sarek.  Sorry about that.  I may try to edit them back in sometime.

Yeah, I thought it appeared a clip was missing.  No big deal.

Another great podcast, fellas.  Love the Vulcans.  I think that you would almost have to cover the Vulcans in seperate podcasts by era or series just to cover all there is out there about them.  But you did a great job with the time you gave them, and it was longer than the average show!  No complaints here!

Rico you did a great job, as usual!  Rick Peete, it's always great to have you guest hosting, as well!   Thanks for this Vulcanian podcast.  :vulcan

Rico

Thanks.  Still kind of bugs me about that missing clip.  Just had a lot to edit in this time.  Anyway, glad you liked the show.  It was a BIG subject for one podcast.

It was a great and entertaining episode covering a lot of great information. No biggie about the clip, I'm sure we've all seen that episode many times anyways :)

hi Guys. Great cast as always. Really found your thoughts on Vulkans interesting. I think spocks transition in the motion picture is a profound moment for trek fans. Small point about vejer in the film. According to scenes in Star Trek Legecy, vejer created the Borg as emisaries to find the creator. Like the cylons in BSG humans had a hand in the creation of the Borg
In life all you need to be happy is a roof over your head, a bottle of wine and a good episode of Star Trek....everything else is a bonus.

I have to say, I really enjoy these Rico/Rick P joint podcasts, you two work well together. I like hearing both of your viewpoints on the topic.

Rico

Thanks Jeff.  We enjoy doing them too!

Something positive from the Rocktooine move then :)

Mamoth cast this week but a good co-operative presentation. I like the way you ran through the series and pointed out a little of the growth of the back story for the species as well as looking more closely at Spock. It's one thing to present a consistent story over a three year show and quite another to manage it over three decades. They've done well as ahvw you to get as much as you did into a single episode.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Great show I listened  to this this morning and having a double TSF day lol. Great facts all the way through. Awesome job both :D
