Sorry, not sure about posting new threads in the forum.  If this is somewhere else let me know and I will move this thread.

Just wanted to see if anyone else is playing Dungeons and Dragons Online now that it is free?  Takes about 3 and a half hours to download for the standard graphic version.  I have two hours left.....

I think at one time there was a thread a long time ago.  I used to play a lot of table top D & D and tried the online version.  It was ok, but I still stick to WOW for right now.  Only so much time in the day.  ;)

My friend play's DD. I used to play it when it first came out but got bored quickly.Supposedly it's better now though.
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

I like the fact it is free for the first few levels, now I just need to try and find the time to play lol.

Oddly enough I was listening to the 1983 podcast today and Rico mentioned the D&D cartoon which was awesome and it got me to thinking. I luved playing D&D but half the fun was me prepping the adventures and DMing for my mates, not that they ever appreciated my complex plots, they appeared to think all situations could be solved by fireballs! Anyway I digress, I've played WoW and Warhammer online and although they were good, they are too restricted so I wondered if you could use the internet to play D&D properly. Obviously you'd have to trust the guys on the other end for dice rolls etc, but would it be the same or as good as the long summer afternoons hunched over a DM shield rolling dice, rolling the weather dice so it always rained because one of my group was forever activating his "electric" armour.....ah those were the days.
If you can remain calm when all around you are panicking, you probably didn't understand the question
