I watched TWOK again for the umpteenth time this evening. This was my second viewing on Blu-Ray though. I kind of wish this was released as the special edition. It seems like the special edition version helps make more sense of Peter's death and several other scenes.

One of the things I noticed in high def is the scene where Saavik is talking to Kirk in the turbolift and then McCoy enters into the lift; the foam pattern on the wall has a hole in it which is seen when they pan to McCoy. Then when they pan back to Kirk you see several punctures in the foam on the lower left by Kirk's arm. I wonder why the director didn't have them fix that. It almost seems like something that would be unacceptable for Starfleet.

Also it seems like there are some time goofs when the reliant is set to explode. I can't recall exactly but it seems like they have five minutes, then one and then three or something along that line.

How does David know what Kirk said to Saavik about how "we face death is as important as how we live". He was not there during the Kobyashi Maru? I guess we have to assume she confided in him?

There was some obviously borrowed footage of the spacedock scenes and some moments that would be subtly harkened back to in Generations as far as the dialogue when the shuttle was docking.

There were several other minor things that got my attention during the course of the film but I can't remember them all right now. I guess next time I need to keep pen and paper handy and write them down.

Have any of the rest of you noticed things that bug you in the film?
